Popular Post webfact Posted January 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2023 Daily News Thai Caption: Tricked playing crypto Daily News reported that a man who they called Geng (smart) aged 49 - a Thai rice trader - contacted them about losing 680,000 baht trading crypto currency. Geng had been contacted in a flirtatious manner by a pretty lady on Facebook last August. After a delightful chatting up the conversation turned to crypto currency. Picture: Daily News Geng admitted to his newfound love that he was interested but didn't know how to trade in the currency. No problem, said the attractive lady, I can guide you through that. She was something of a Crypto Queen when it came to online trading. Things went well for a while as Geng invested increasingly larger amounts but started to unravel when Geng wanted to take his profits. Picture: Daily News "Ploi" was still helping but there were mixups over data entry and accounts and demands for payments to close an account as well as tax. Geng finally realised he had been fleeced when Ploi disappeared into the internet ether. He'd reported the matter to the Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, police in October but so far it's been all quiet on the constabulary front. He said that he had been suicidal as he owed the money after taking out bank loans and borrowing from friends and family who all wanted their cash back. But a confidant had talked him back from the edge after reminding him about his mum and the fact that he was the main bread winner in the family. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2023-01-05 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. OneMoreFarang Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 I guess in a way it is good to see that not only stupid farangs have difficulties with the thinking when their blood is in another part of their body. 1 1
CelticBhoy Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 ". . . the fact that he was the main bread winner in the family." Don't think that's quite how the family see him now!

Photoguy21 Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Greed the easiest way to lose money. Unfortunately there is one every minute. I feel sorry for the guy but it was of his own making.

Velisbef Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 It's easy for (straight) guys to fall for an attractive and flirtatious lady, regardless of your age. Wishing him luck finding the soulless con.

Taboo2 Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 No sympathy. He would have a better time losing that money in a top shelf Go Go on WS. P. T. Barnum...remember him.
aussienam Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Sha Zhu Pan - Pig Butchering Scam. Fatten the pig (foreigner) before slaughter. Multi billion dollar fraud scam run by Chinese organised crime syndicates. They usually pose as beautiful Chinese, with fake profiles on dating sites or pretend to accidentally message you on What's App, etc. They groom gullible foreigners with flirtatious chat (can be days, weeks, months) and casually mention they invest and make money in crypto, or their 'aunty/uncle, etc' does. The script is usually the same. Foreigners out of curiosity ask more questions about this seemingly lucrative money making venture. Then they are often lured into investing into crypto. It may be a combo of legitimate and fake crypto exchange sites. But ultimately the victims will lose everything. 1
