Charlene An now needs to sue for defamation.

Correct, the only way to change these laws is use them against the people they are there to benefit.

My 33 years of experience here suggests otherwise.

  • Nobody trusts them for two reasons, many of them are liars and crooks.

  • So, what were the charges against he "Actress"?   Appearing to be drunk? Having Vaping equipment in her hand-bag? I do not see that she has been charged with any offence, so what excuse

It's all a misunderstanding!

Cop in question asked for a loan, as his buffalo is very sick.

RTP and trust; thank you for this most valuable joke - must be the tag line of the millennium!

The fact that the RTP will travel to Taiwan is indicative of the cops are not lying. Otherwise they would let a sleeping dog lie

let's see if they actually go and if they do wait for the result  ....... which will result in further nonsense of they said this and she said that. The RTP can't win either way and maybe get arrested for a dodgy visa or threatening a local citizen.

And maybe issue an apology to Ms. An for defaming her in public.

On their knees

Run over and kill a policeman, then do a runner.

The police could not give a dam

Accuse them of extorting 27,000 baht and it's "all hands on deck."

Definitely double standards here.

Not at all. This story has hit international headlines everywhere.. Tourists in Thailand. Even having a e cigarette ( vaping?) or having had a few drinks is no reason for the police to come down heavy handed on tourists . Trust of the RTP flew out of the window years ago , as thousands of tourists or expats will confirm. Of course there are good ones, and ones who want to change things.  .But  It’s from the top down, as seen by the Chinese mafia and immigration officers headlines. That the police go to Taiwan themselves is a good move . Things should be taken seriously.  Ot should the better police continue to turn a blind eye to scenes such as plastic bags over heads to extort money ?

No only one standard, what's in it for us?

Yea ,neither are trustworthy, but I know Who I would be believe first.  :jap:

^This, yes.  I'm guessing she will drop it but would love to see her sue.

She needs to make a skit (a short movie) about it, and post it on YouTube. Bet that would get a lot of views.

All stemming from the absurd charge of possessing a vape- a harm reduction product available in some UK NHS hospitals- while others can walk freely tp the nearest 7/11 and buy cigarettes.  And look at the sum of money involved!

The admission by the RTP in this scandal is an embarrassment to themselves and to all on social media who defended them.

Fair comment except in this particular case it seems social media, at least what she posted is more trustworthy?

And now the truth. The RTP did extort her for 27k baht and then doctored the CCTV in an attempt to discredit her. RTP, once again you prove what a disgrace you all are.

Yet just now they came out and said they did extort her....so I will not be listening to the RTP continue to try and sweep there misdeeds under the carpet.

This incident saw daylight as the lady has no desire to return to Thailand & her celebrity status surely helped.

Many similar cases would not be reported, simply as the victims are living in LoS or have no desire to land in trouble.

Lots of egg on that spokesmans face after the news today that the cops involved admitted extorting her for 27k. Trust Us....... Haha

As regards vapes in the future, it can go one of 2 ways: A. turn a blind eye, or B. arrest, court, fine/jail, and deportation.  If it's the latter, it'll kick up a heck of a sxxxstorm.

It will be both.  Turn a blind eye if it's a Thai.  Arrest/court/fine/jail/deportation for non-Thais.

I know the story, so I read the headlins, skipped the article, and headed straight to the comments!  Hahaha

The man said the information would be reliable.

He never said it would be truthful.

Thai public should get their information from the Thai police

No, they shouldn't.

Creepy, greasy, No good slobs.

CCTV is being analysed from various sources but the Grab car dash cam video from the night in question had already been deleted as it was more than 20 days old.

Didn't this kefuffle occur on January 5th, and hit the news on the 15th?

Just asking.

And Thai (cops) will go through great lengths to 'save face', so their denials, or trips don't prove anything.
