Since this one was visible to to he naked eye, them why did no-one notice the previous three?

Maybe they were dinky wee party balloons over the western Aleutians just for a day trip?

Lets see where this second balloon they are tracking goes. The Chinese spokeswoman just made a statement on it:

She said: "As for the balloon in Latin America's sky, we have learned and verified that the relevant unmanned airship is from China. It is of civilian usage and is used for flight tests.

"Affected by weather and due to limited self-control ability, the airship severely deviated from its set route and entered the space of Latin America and the Caribbean by accident."

You know nothing about the incursions because it was not disclosed by the Trump's administration. Mike Esper as the Secretary of Defense and report direct to President Trump. Did President Trump covered up the incursions because he did not want to jeopardize the relationship with China that may soured up his businesses there? I don't know. The alleged spy ballons were picked up by the Department of Defense flying into Hawaii, Guam, Texas & Florida restricted airspace. Texas is a permanent prohibited area due to the Pantex nuclear assemply plant. US Air Force can scrambled to intercept any airspace intrusion in 4-5 minutes. Moreover, did Trump even protested to China about the intrusions? We didn;t hear about that too. Too much coverup during Trump's adminstration to give him a pass on any benefit of doubt.

Too much bias and guesswork does not give you a pass either.

In the meantime there seems to be no agreement on the reality (or not) of previous balloon incursions:

Putting politics and the blame game aside, Carl Bildt Co-Chair European Council has a good point.

"This Chinese balloon was a rather massive piece of engineering. It’s amazing that some of these have been circling the globe for years without attracting more attention. Beijing has some questions to answer."

Why did they wait so long before shooting it down?  They saw it cross the Aleutian Islands—one of the least populated places on Earth.

Probably the best way forward is to license the sale of ground to air missiles to NRA card holders in Texas (for purely self-defence reasons, of course)

The reports seen here prove nothing about balloons on Trumps watch, there is no evidence only "unnamed sources":

"But an unnamed source from the Trump administration insisted to Bloomberg in that same article that it wasn’t a big deal."

Weak, lame attempt by desperate democrats, If there was Chinese balloons flaoting anywhere near US airspace, Omar, Schumer, Swalwell, Pelosi et al would have plastered it wall to wall on the networks and formulated another kangaroo court to impeach Trump. There was nothing, because there were no balloons.

Whenever Biden pulls a boner and screws something up (which is regular & routine) his regime attempts to either blame Trump or claim he did it as well. Worse than children.

For the 3rd time on this thread:

he US Department of Defense said three other of these crafts 'briefly transited the continental United States at least three times during the prior administration.' “

All to be covered in the dramatization "Three Balloons Outside of Jupiter, Florida."

Could someone explain how to fly a balloon from China to America with no engines, wings or pilots.

I can see that if you launch it when the wind is blowing east it will start off fine, but to guide it precisely over military targets, what's the trick?
