For attacking 10 people. the beast should have been destroyed years ago.  There is nothing such as a bad dog, only bad owners. When an attack occurs  people who keep a dangerous dog should be punished

I’m sure someone will be able to find a link which shows a golden retriever biting ripping out the intestines  of its owner....    Pitbull lovers will come on here defending the indefensible

Yes they are. Stop being so silly. It is people like you that allow such incidents to take place. People come before the dogs.

Oh wow!. That's TWO rehabilitated pit bulls working in law American enforcement. Truly wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Meanwhile... "In 2021, of the 51 Americans killed by dogs, 37 were killed by one or more pit bulls and their mixes (in some cases in combination with one or more other breeds), and 21 of those victims were either the owner of the pit bull or member of the owner's family. ..."

Great therapy dogs too. Look at the unbridled joy on the faces of those elderly people. Incredible.

There had been many warnings about the dog after it attacked more than ten people over the years, but it had never turned on the family....until now.

It is now being looked after by a kind (Jai Bun) other person.

Time to put it to sleep in the best interests of everyone and the dog.

Take note those Pit Bull Owners on this forum!

Another Pit Bull causes death turning on its own family!

Now my opinion:

They are all ugly looking brutes, anyway!

Including photos of them here!

Police are not using Rottweilers for others reasons, not because they are mentally unstable.

I went to a colleagues house with Rottweilers once. One of the beasts did not behave like a pet.

No jumping, greeting or tail wagging.

It spent most of the evening staring in my direction

While positioning between myself and his wife/children.

Case in point - after yet another unwanted/unplanned (call it what you will) litter of puppies at one of our farms - I (half) jokingly said I would take a few of the newborn pups & feed them to my snake. This comment was greeted with such derision & shock - I have dropped a few steps in my standing in my family here!!.  No - the puppies will be raised, and then when old enough, my Father in Law will take them for a trip to the 'forest'.  Here they will be abandoned/dumped/rehomed.

Sorry it has to be said, Thai's have a savage and backwards culture surrounding dogs. It's sickening all the poor diseased dogs suffering the streets you see here. 100% of this is the fault of the general Thai population at large. It shows the Thai's have a cruel indifference towards dogs or are too lazy and selfish to make any steps to fix the problem.

Whatever, nothing is going to change here but they should all be ashamed of themselves and I wish they knew they were losing face in the eyes of the civilized world.

Many people here who have dogs expect them to be burglar alarms. I don't they would euthanize a dog for savaging a burglar.

There is a guy near my home with two of the darned things that go up the soi sniffing and defecating everywhere. He has kids so i am just waiting for a disaster to happen.

IMO, it should have been packed off to Vietnam as a culinary delight!!

AGAIN!

When will the Government realise that something needs to be done about these dogs, especially when they have bitten people in the past?

"There had been many warnings about the dog after it attacked more than ten people over the years,..."

"Phatsorn, Mana's wife, arranged for the dog to be looked after by kind people who offered to help."

Unbelievable! I wouldn't go near it with a bargepole!

Agree fully. And what of the unsuspecting neighbours of the 'kind people' now looking after the dog? This dog is proven to be extremely dangerous, irrespective of arguments between bad dogs, bad owners etc. It is what it is and the dog should be put down forthwith for the safety and protection of others.

Idiotic is a better description. the dog should be put down and the owner charged with keeping a dangerous animal without due care and attention.

That dog cant see any friends, it would be embarrassed.

Dogs or humans don't go anywhere near it to know.....????

Not much use charging the owner,he got himself killed by his own dog.

That is what this topic is about.

For all the people that are stating this and that about a type of dog breed. This dog has bit 10 people and now killed someone 'In the Family'. No way can any dog lover debated if the dog should live. It 'MUST' be put down. How the hell can anyone debate this and that about owners and the dog as a bred. This is clearly a killer. DEAL WITH IT !

Karma at its finest. Stupid is as stupid does.

Karma is a myth to make people think there is natural justice in the universe. If there was the said dog would be mincemeat by now.

There's such a thing as a bad dog though.

"Bad" is a humanistic value. Animals have a certain nature. They cannot be blamed

Maybe we are supposed to pray at the temple that it doesn't rip their faces off some day soon, because that would cause them to "lose face".

That's fine. I just think people should be held criminally responsible for the actions of owned vicious livestock as if you committed the offense yourself. Just like having an unsecured loaded gun around kids. Only a matter of time.

While he accepted it had attacked people outside the family before it had never gone for them.

I guess they didn't mind it attacking other people and didn't think it would attack them.  A tough lesson to learn.

As long as such narratives are still used, the tragedies will keep on happening.

No such thing as a bad dog, then one would have to explain why, for example, Pit Bulls could not be used by police, who consider them too dangerous and uncontrollable to be of any use.

And this appears to suggest that poodles and Pit Bulls, well, they are all dogs, same family of animals.

As if a poodle raised by a bad owner would start killing the neighbors and owners as well.

Yes I agree there are bad dogs as with other animals even horses or humans: they can be Just Evil! However on a whole most of these animals that attack are because they have incompetent owners. This dog I imagine would be half insane being kept in a cage and "sometimes allowed out". Are some breeds more dangerous obviously yes but that comes from Breed traits. American Pit bulls are very protective (once known as the Nanny dog) that with their power, poor socialising and inexperienced owners then you have an equation for disaster. Some of the worst dogs for bitting are toy dogs but due to their small size they are not normally fatal. No dog should ever be allowed to roam free and definatly not in packs. Thailand needs a Cull of these dogs desperately.

Where I live, bull's, cows and buffalo's are walking the streets looking for grass their owner doesn't have.....

Been a few close shaves in my runaround.

Seems it's allowed...:cowboy:

This Breed should be banned on a worldwide basis.
