Thailand appears to behaving like a Dictatorship !

I don't think anyone has ever doubted that. No-one has denied it, including the dictators. It's just the way the country operates, and has done for the past nearly 100 years. Why should it change now?

Phalang Pracharath Party leader Gen Prawit Wongsuwan on Friday appointed Thammasat Prompao as party MP coordinator for the sake of "efficiency". Thammanat a former deputy minister of agriculture was once convicted of importing heroine to Australia

Lucky it was just heroin and not holding media shares.

Plus he was also acquitted of a murder charge that allegedly took place in his own office.

The  land that want the be the leader in ASEAN???

Remember that Thailand wants to be the hub of everything.

So far, it's achieved corruption and incompetency.

I knew once I saw Prayut make his announcement that he was retiring from politics, that the timing was simply clearing the path for Prawit. They are going to let Pita self destruct, and then make their move. Unless the Phu Thai Party can step up to reconstitute a majority coalition government, with them at the helm, the truly unthinkable will occur... The assembly will seat a minority coalition government.

let's hope this problem can be solved without violence and deaths.

This would be such an egregious outcome that if ever violence and deaths were deserved.....

Just stirring the pot,  just a month ago someone was pointing out citing an article as if it was the Bible or something?  Since the reader agree therefore it must be true.

The guy Pita, a Harvard grad? Been and is a current MP,  part of the system or laying low learning the system?  needless to say I felt these shared advisor all around him should have done something prior so he isn't in this position.

What surprises me these were share owned by his father if useless. worthless, company not operating all these years why did he keep it!

Regardless of the people voting for him something smells with these shares he is where he is because of one person himself and this is the guy we go will lead the Thais to the future?

As mentioned in other threads so even if they get him to become PM, the idea of a minority government which can't pass anything through the House of Representatives is absurd. How's that supposed to work?

Don't soldiers, guns and tanks not spring to mind?

First chance they have no confidence motion and back to elections

Does a  no confidence motion just need a majority of the 500 MPs?

If MF party is banned can the current MPs of MF that were elected simply join one of the other parties?

It would seem that the key here is MF and PT keeping their alliance strong and having a true power sharing arrangement based on mutual trust.

I am informed that the height requirement for the Thai military is 1-5 metres. He was only 1-47 in his prime.

Don't think the system is all that fair.

The former unelected PM Prayut is supposed to be 6 ft tall, 183mts. He sure doesn't look tall in his photo's. Of course he could have been doing a Tom Jones and had a few ins on his heels. ????

What will follow is that Prawit will do everything in his power to eliminate Pita and his party. Not showcasing §112 when Pita was campaigning would have most possibly secured him the premiership. Think about it.

Grill All Day, A Thai-run meat BBQ restaurant in Ratchaburi province announced on Friday they do not welcome junta-appointed senators, Election Commissioners and their children after most of them voted against PM candidate Pita Limjaroenrat on Thursday.

The restaurant owner was later asked on TV3 about the 13 senators who voted for Pita and the reply was they and their family are welcome to dine for free.

Not sure how he can jump ahead of a Pheu Thai candidate?

He can't jump, he can roll but only after his syncophants push him. Ugh!
