Popular Post webfact Posted August 15, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 15, 2023 A German man, under the influence, reportedly set his own house ablaze and burned down a car, believed to be that of a relative, in a drunken fit. The incident occurred on August 15, 2023, in Ban Saklo, Hang Hin Subdistrict, Chiang Mai Province. Concerns about his Thai wife's prolonged absence led him to consume excessive alcohol, resulting in his destructive rampage, reported Thai Rath. Local police and emergency services responded promptly to control the blaze, which had engulfed his single-story cement house and a neighboring parking area. The responders managed to put out the fire after approximately an hour of concerted effort. Additionally, a white Mitsubishi pickup truck parked nearby was severely damaged. The man, approximately in his mid-sixties, suffered burns and bodily injuries, particularly to his arms and torso. Swiftly, authorities administered prompt medical care and swiftly relocated him to a nearby medical facility. The underlying triggers for his intense response and the depth of distress stemming from his spouse's prolonged absence are presently under more extensive scrutiny and inquiry. Preliminary findings suggest a potential combination of alcohol-fueled frustration and personal distress contributed to the unfortunate incident. Police are continuing their inquiry to establish a clearer understanding of the situation. Popular Post bbko Posted August 16, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 16, 2023 What's up with the drunk Germans these days? I was out with my wife the other night 2 days ago and as we are walking to the restaurant, there's a crowd of Thais and I see they are checking on a unconscious 70 y/o ish farang on the sidewalk. I see he's a foreigner, and I'm a ex-paramedic so I stop and see if I can help. The Thais call for an ambulance and as we're waiting, I try to determine why he's laying on the sidewalk. A few minutes of "Mister, are you ok?" and he rolls over and throws up, he starts to come around just as the medics arrive and he's a mix of belligerent and giddy. Turned out he was a drunk German, he declined the ambulance ride to the hospital and kept asking me if I'd go drink with him. 555, I tell him he's had enough to drink and it's better to go home, problem is he can't walk, the medics call for the police and I continue on with my night. 5 1 2 1

Nah, he paid for what he thought was his final home, in her name, and she wanted him out. No mental illness, apart from trusting his wife. Entirely understandable IMHO. 9 3 1 12 6

Just for a thought 4
