Wise vs Revolut - This is what I've found out
I undertand this. I wasn't placing any blame on Wise. This was simply a money grab from the merchant. -

Slashing welfare': GOP eyes chopping $5 trillion to pay for Trump priorities — like tax cuts
Yes, it is unconscionable that the tax loopholes exist. The Citizens United decision has made it all the more difficult to fix. Tons of money fighting change. Rather doubt it if front line McDonald's workers would pay any federal income taxes and most likely little or no state income taxes. However, I see the point you make. -

Wise vs Revolut - This is what I've found out
I have been using wise card for overseas spendings as well as credit cards. The surcharge fees in various countries and merchants are the same regardless what cards you use. -

Scooter lock
Thats a poor example - possibly from a cheap Chinese bike. Nearly all motorcycles now have hydraulic brakes and will not have any cable at all. The hydraulic brake mechanism relies on a lever, a hinge and and plunger - the point you made remains valid, it doesn't make much to cut the hydraulic line and release the brake. -

Fresh Chicken Meat Scattered Across Road After Fatal Collision
Picture from responders, CCTV below. An incident unfolded on the Pho Phra Ya-Tha Ruea road in Ayutthaya’s Tha Ruea district on January 13, as a six-wheel truck transporting fresh chicken parts crashed into the rear of a trailer truck. The driver of the six-wheel truck was pronounced dead at the scene, and chicken parts were strewn across the road. The incident occurred around 11:45 with police officers from Tha Ruea Police Station and rescue teams from Ayutthaya Ruam Jai Association responding to the scene. Upon arrival, they found a severely damaged white six-wheel truck with Suphan Buri registration plates, filled with containers of fresh chicken parts. The driver, later identified as Mr Boonlert, 57, from Suphan Buri, was trapped in the wreckage. Rescue teams used hydraulic cutting equipment to extract his body. The trailer truck, registered in Loei province, was loaded with fertiliser and showed damage to the rear of its trailer. The driver, Mr Weerachat, 43, explained that he had been delivering fertiliser from Kalasin and was preparing to turn left into a warehouse when he heard a loud crash. He discovered that the six-wheel truck had slammed into the back of his vehicle. CCTV footage revealed that the trailer truck had slowed down to make the turn when the six-wheel truck, following closely behind, failed to stop in time and collided at speed. The impact scattered chicken parts and containers across the road, leaving a long trail of brake marks leading up to the point of collision. Police are continuing their investigation, reviewing CCTV footage and gathering witness statements, including testimony from Mr Weerachat. Legal proceedings will follow in line with the findings of the investigation. -- 2025-01-14 ScreenRecording_01-13-2025 19-33-16_1.mp4 -

Visa Agencies vs. Self-Service Border Runs – Is There a Real Benefit?
You can try by yourself, but I would not recommend it. The fee you pay is to make sure that you are pre-cleared and not hassled by immigration - before you even arrive at the border. They also mark your TM6 card with the Visa agency service sticker, and usually have you wear a little sign on your clothes that identify you as part of the group. If you want to do it yourself it is of course possible, but you might have issues returning the same day. They could ask you to stay in Cambodia a few nights, or you might be questioned if you have a long history of visa exempts/tourist visas in your passport. In the absolute worst case you will not be let back in at that border, and then you have to try to make your way back through another one. Not a fun time.
