A Thai Bolt driver in Pattaya reached out to a news agency after a foreign man refused to pay his transport fare and bit him, leaving him with a cut lip.

 

Channel 7 announced that the reporters visited the Thai Bolt driver, Weeraphon, in hospital yesterday, January 29. The man was being treated for bite marks and scratches on his stomach, back and right arm. His right eye was covered with a shield and his lower lip was cut.

 

Weeraphon explained to reporters that the incident happened at 3.30am on Sunday, January 28. He picked up a foreign man from Soi Buakhao, and the passenger’s destination was a house in Soi Tung Klom-Tarn Man 27 in the Bang Lamung district of Pattaya.

 

When they arrived in the southern Pattaya area, the foreign man asked him to stop because he needed to pee. However, the foreign passenger walked away from him and left the scene with a motorcycle rider. Weeraphon said he was not sure whether the rider was an app-based rider or a local motorcycle taxi rider in the area.

Just to clarify, full fare from pick up to final destination was 171 baht. Idiot decided to change half way through but Bolt driver wanted the full fare? 
and when taxi rider offered Bolt 100 which is already more than half for half the journey, Bolt took it but then wanted idiot foreigner to still pay the remaining money?

 

Followed them to his house to try to get 71 baht instead of going to get a new customer ?

Although I don't intend ever to drive to Pattaya again there seems to be a need to have health insurance and theft insurance for people who do go there because there are just so many incidents involving theft (katoeys) and violence in Pattaya. You even need to avoid walking under condominium balconies in case a suicidal or parachuting foreigner falls on top of you.

How ever this situation built up to this, people need to recognise that in General Bolt provide a great service at a very low price. If assaults on drivers continue either the rates will go up or there will be less drivers or possibly both. Hope the driver is ok. Don’t know what people are thinking.

Sounds crazy but this is thailand and anything can and will happen. A bite on his lip with the taxi driver the mind boggles

The result of being bitten was a cut lip suggesting the passenger made oral contact with the driver.😀

Bolt drivers

If a REAL bona fide registered Taxi had been in use then he would have had recourse to his mafia colleagues, or at the bare minimum an illegal firearm or a machete or two.

I know that final destination, it's out in the sticks.  That farang should worry about some Thai drivers getting some payback.

No, that's not what happened, he did a runner on the whole fare before they got to the destination.
