Roosters are the worst. I can put up with most road noise, music etc but roosters drive me mad, especially at 5am.

Had a neigbour who kept fighting roosters and those little bxstards were at it all times, day or night. I moved, now I got one with multiple dogs!

  • I have many pleasant memories of Jomtien Beach. This is a crying shame. It's what happens when you let peasant type tourists invade your country.

  • I get your complaints.  But, what do you expect in reality Pattaya area is one of the most popular entertainment areas in Asia now. Especially near the bigger beaches there will be constant noise

  • Oh dear. Old people, can't sleep in a tourist resort. How terrible. if your near the beach at night. it is noise ville, pattaya and Jomtien. it's not the foreign tourists doing it,

I always laugh when I see expats move to Thailand then complain that it isn't like their home country.  There are planes leaving everyday, don't like it here? Get on one.

Dear Member 252 (Nice name !)

How long have you lived here ?

I married a lovely Thai lady 21 years ago and we have lived in this house 500 m from Jomtien beach all of those 21 years.

This recent trend of letting off fireworks EVERY night is a NEW phenomenon.

Don't tell me to get on a plane. This is my home. I have integrated myself totally into the country. And sadly it has devolved into a nightly war zone. with explosives going off into the wee hours. The authorities are doing nothing to control it.

Possibly you can step in with your outstanding charm and wit

and convince the the fire-cracker-heads  to cease and desist , except for the usual major holidays.

Keep your sarcasm to yourself. I've supported a large Thai family all these years and helped raise the standard of living of many relatives. What have you done besides sit at your keyboard and pound out pompous remarks. How about helping to make this land a better place ? Or is that asking too much of you ?

it's not the foreign tourists doing it,  it's locals and the Bangkok crew.

Quake - you clearly are a "newbie" to Jomtien.

20+ years ago Jomtien was a quiet beach south of "Disneyland for Grownups" .

That is why I chose to buy a house with my wife and live here all this time and NOT there.

Unfortunately , ... well , just reread my post about the CHANGES over 20+ years

and understand that it is not "old people" being affected.

It is EVERYONE with EARS. Your youthful arrogance is understandable.

Sorry to read your short-sighted interpretation of the facts.

Regardless of who is shooting off fireworks (locals or short term tourists )

, my point was ... WHERE ARE THE POLICE to control the NOISE at 2 a.m. ?

Here I am thinking Russians and Ukrainians continued their war on Jomtien beach, but it's only a few fireworks.

I guess some expats have a different understanding of war 😞

Its does appear,  there was some kind of bang on the beach the other night

in Jomtien.

But not to sure how load it was.

I suspect it's TAT making Ruzzians and Ukrainians feel home...

It's crazy this weekend with all the loud motorcycles roaring up and down Jomtien beach at all hours. Mixed in with fireworks all night. Ugh.

That new beach has attracted many here. Good and bad news

Just drove down Jomtien beach road. Packed! Mostly locals with motorcycles in their truck bed. Even several flatbed trucks with 5 or 6 strapped down. Lots slept on the beach last night

Some major work about to start on Jomtien Beach road, going to be one way (south) for a while

Does not say when as far as I know

Going by other road works about 3 years!!!!!!! Just kidding, not a clue, but I bet a long time, that's a big stretch of road they appear to be doing

The advert/poster/bill board

says the works are  for installing

(yet again) drainage pipes.

hopefully back to 2 way after that

(till the next time)

No one goes to Pattaya for the quiet life , could be time to relocate to an Issan village ?

Udon, Khon Kaen and Nong Khai are all fairly quiet nice cities. Don't need a village. I guess most foreigners really don't know much about other cities.

Probably be irrelevant anyhow!

Yeah I remember they were reluctant to commit to a specific completion date when it was announced, just " we aim to finish before high season ". It would be nice if just once they could do it on time with no unforseen delays - read incompetence. I'm not holding out a lot of hope for that myself.
