Cherng Talay – Four taxi drivers have been fined after they threatened a mobile application taxi driver in Cherng Talay.

The Cherng Talay Pollice told the Phuket Express that earlier this week a mobile application taxi driver filed a report to police. He told police that he picked up tourists at a hotel in Cherng Talay.

There were about three to five local taxi drivers who blocked his taxi and hit the vehicle. His passengers were frightened as a result. The Cherng Talay Police and the Phuket Tourist Police tracked down those local taxi drivers but did not identify them by name to the Thai media.

..who cares about their name?

And now? 200 or 300B fine?

That will teach them to never do that again. Or maybe not?

These guys should not be fined. A proper punishment would be withdrawal of the taxi license and 3 month in jail.

It happened to one a few weeks ago a 6 month ban plus a fine here in Phuket

They are facing charges of threatening others. They will be fined up to 10,000 baht or imprisoned up to one month or both for their actions, said police.

My bet is on 1,000 baht fine and no sentence, back out on the streets after the court hearing..

They should be banned from being public service drivers for one year minimum.

30 years still going on, governor after governor has promised to  eliminate this problem, but are weak and soft, the taxi mafia has blocked visiting navy ships  even as large as  us aircraft carrier with 6000 staff on boar, they been blocking cruise ships that rent hundreds of buses same as the navy ships for their guests and personell, time to see who pay taxes in to Phuket administration, and that will NOT be the taxis and tuk-tuks

From the article:

Four taxi drivers have been fined

They will be fined up to 10,000 baht or imprisoned up to one month or both

So which is it? More brilliant Thai journalism.

Well a bit more harsh punishment than the ladyboys on Pattaya Beach Rd at night who rough up tourists and steal gold necklaces.

Often caught, taken to the local police station (5 minutes walk), fined 100Baht and told to go home. Many have been fined 100Baht multiple times.

Excuse me. What do you mean with this post. I just posted my opinion. If you agree you can say that. No need to sound like I want everyone to listen and heed.

Even if English isn't your first language I'm sure that you know how to search the meaning of "Hear, hear!" on the internet.  There's no need for you to give me instructions on how to respond to your posts that are based on your misunderstanding of the usage of a very common English language expression.

Yeah, they can be believed and trusted!
