So if you are a small cop facing 2 burly farangy's, shouting at you menacingly, you would not have your only means of protection at the ready...?  🤭

Imagine the FB posts and news headlines screaming the cops drew their weapons out for a traffic offence! The antics herein at AN would be lovely to see! :shock1: :violin:

We have no video of what led up to the scuffle . However if the cop had been holding the gun and threatening to shoot them what do you expect ? Conjecture ? maybe but I would like to hear the full story . All ways two sides to a story but the NZs guys account will no doubt be ignored . What we do know is that the two NZ guys did not stop when told to and one had no licence but does that warrant a shooting ? More to this event than has been disclosed .

I guess the cops have to look the other way when farangs behave like this? :bah:

If they were MMA fighters, they should have maturity to control their actions as they are trained fighters.  Also, look at the size of that cop.  Those men are cowards!

Two narcissistic privileged children from a filthy rich family who think they can buy their way out of trouble. They're probably able to do so on their home turf. Same attitude as the Red Bull kid.

MMA fighters, hmmm, trying out their stuff on a cop, I suspect lacking in gray matter to handle the situation sensibly.....

Playing devils advocate.

- As the men approached, one policeman figured he'd stop them as they were "not riding close to the left side of the road and riding at high speed"...  Which seems like made up BS (the BiB can't tell how fast they were riding and the "not riding close to the left side" is trumped up BS.

- The Policeman saw white foreigners and signalled them to stop.

- NZ guys didn't see that they were told to stop so carried on, or,

- NZ guy didn't want to get extorted so refused to stop (guys on this forum talk of just riding through when told to stop).

- BiB gave chase and pulled tried to shoot out the tyres (?)

- NZ frightened at getting shot at stop.

- Policeman had the NZ guys under arrest with gun drawn, NZ guys frightened that a crazy Policeman had them at gun point.

- NZ guys took the gun off the Policeman just in case he was crazy enough to shoot again.

- Policeman lied about shooting and used the 'miss-fire during a tussle' excuse to pin further blame on the NZ guys.

No idea what really happened of course - but the above is also a possible scenario.

No I don’t think he shot at tires

I have seen a video of a cop kicking a Thai Moto rider over who deigned to pass his checkpoint

I think most likely when the cop caught up with the scroungers he was shouting and pulled his weapon, which I have also seen Thai police do to Thais. But in that case they just shut up and dispersed and the incident was over. I’m sure whatever happened the Kiwis overreacted. If I had done same when stopped for jogging at night in US 18 years ago I would not be posting here as I was already dead.

They have made their bed, and now get to sleep in it for a very long time. Think this takes NZ to the top of the madness list by far. Not even the back kicking Swiss guy stands a chance.

:cheesy: The Chinese and the Indians have no chance at all!

Karma works in different ways - usually, ALL the bad was on the Chinese & Indians... low quality, low life, every low thing on the planet. But now, the REAL colours are coming up!

In the mean time, some are vehemently trying to justify these lowlife actions without any shame!

It's rare that people would subdue a Policeman and take his weapon... So why ?... was the policeman acting dangerously ?

We've read of plenty of times a policeman loses it and shots at someone.

We've read of plenty of times of policemen chasing vehicles and trying to shoot out the tyres etc.

This is an extremely rare sitation - Very little adds up with the media versions of events at the moment.

So.. Did the BiB draw his gun prematurely ?

Fired at the tyres ?

Men retaliated to subdue him ?

A cop who has to draw his weapon does so because he feels in danger, from the photos and video it seems he was right, nobody does that kind of thing to a cop.

You put your hands up and stay quiet.

Now these numbskulls have created a big problem for themselves, although it will all come out in the wash.......☺️

Yeah... I can see that happening too....

my Brother in law tried to run from the BiB at a check point (I think he'd seen the check point up ahead so he did a U-turn 100m before it, so they gave chase) when they caught up with him, he stopped and they gave him a bit of a kicking.

So... As you mention, I too can see the scenario where the Policeman was angry and drew his weapon.

Perhaps thats when there was a miss-fire (gun not secure, round in chamber no safety on).

NZ scared for their lives needed to react and subdue the police who they thought was going to shoot them.

Plenty of possibilities in this story -  I wonder if we'll get to hear the side of the NZ guys.

In my 17 years of driving my car here I've been stopped and fined 200 baht each time on made up violations. Each time I gave them a wry smile, paid up and got on my way. What's the point in causing a scene for a couple of hundred baht? Even if these guys hadn't been speeding and all over the road, they had no motorbike licence so were breaking the law. Why risk a barney with a copper resulting in possible jail time over paying a small fine?

I have been here for 40 years. Been stopped for speeding which I admitted but never been fined.

Really ??...  I'd argue that a Thai Policeman who draws his gun does so not because he feels danger, but because he can...

Unless the Policeman truly lost it...

Had they not 'reacted' perhaps the story would be different and we'd be reading of two kiwi guys who were shot by a 'rogue' police officer...

Hopefully there is more footage than that we see in the media that can give authorities a clearer explanation... because either...

a) the NZ guys are dangerous thugs, or,

b) a policeman went over the top and the NZ guys were left with little choice but to defend themselves.

Geez, let's wait until we get both sides, of the story.

In NZ it is reported that the guys were protecting themselves.

But as usual, on here, we get the "hang the farang" attitude. Guys, Thai police are not law abiding people, even Thais will tell you that.

Wait ? Asean now members  don't Wait for facts. Where's the fun in that ?

In the video - do you see the NZ Men attacking the Policeman ???

Or, do you see one guy trying to subdue the Policeman and remove the gun, after successfully removing the gun he hands it over to the other NZ guy who makes it safe (seemingly) ??

Why did the NZ need to fight for the gun if the Police officer hadn't pulled it out already ?

Lots of the story seems missing... or rather, parts of the story which may paint the Policeman is a less than favourable light seems to be missing.

After the police pursuit, the two foreigners were infuriated and allegedly attacked the police while having the incident recorded by the police. The situation escalated as the foreigners allegedly attempted to snatch the officers’ firearm causing the gun to fire once, nobody was injured, according to the police.

The police were able to forcibly apprehend them shortly after and escorted them to Chalong police station for further legal processing.

In the scruffle, imagine if the gun went off and a bullet pierced the head of a KIWi? It can happen, by accident, or...

So it is against the rules for a cop to pull out his gun? IF he did pull it out, he definitely would have some reason to do it. How many members herein has experienced FIRST HAND, where a Thai cop pull out a gun on him/her on the road?

Honest question - did they steal a pair of shoes? I can't recall anything of 18 pages of posts regarding this incident where theft was mentioned.

They took his gun, I guess that would be classified as theft
