This week, he was at the centre of a controversy which threatened to rock the Royal Thai Police to its foundations. It followed shocking revelations by his lawyers on Tuesday. They told the media that efforts are being made by unseen forces to remove him. At the same time, they made disturbing claims relating to systemic corruption linked to illegal online gambling site BNK Master. (Inset) General Surachate attended a party for underprivileged children in Bangkok on Saturday. It came as Bangkok police sought to serve a criminal summons on him.

‘BIG JOKE’ SAGA CONTINUES TO UNFOLD: Arrest warrant request to the courts considered by Bangkok-based police as they continue to target him over the BNK Master case. The PM’s intervention has not extracted him from legal peril. Top cop reportedly planning a short UK vacation amidst the legal turmoil that continues to surround him.

The dramatic intervention by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin on Wednesday has still left Police Deputy Chief General Surachate Hakparn exposed. An additional attempt to serve a summons on him related to the controversial BNK Master investigation was made on Friday. At the same time, Metropolitan Police Bureau sources in Bangkok, on Saturday, were reportedly considering another application to have an arrest warrant issued. This comes with reports the top policeman known also as ‘Big Joke’ is planning on a short holiday to the United Kingdom.

 

The developments come amid concerns about the remit of the three-member panel of enquiry appointed by the Prime Minister on Wednesday. It came following shocking revelations of industrial-level corruption within the Royal Thai Police revealed by General Surachate’s lawyers on Tuesday.

 

The dramatic saga surrounding Deputy Chief General Surachate Hakparn, colloquially known as ‘Big Joke,’ continues to unfold.

 

The deputy police commander’s recent activities included attending a charitable event for underprivileged children in Bangkok. This took place on Saturday by prior appointment.

Maybe out of harms way while the truth about who was partaking in the BNK scandal comes to light ??  Surachate  was targeted before , a few years back due to his carrying out checks on certain people.

The  unfolding of a high-level power play. Not as high level as a criminal in a long-term hospital stay but still high.

What a joke, so they’re not able to serve him a warrant they’re giving him time to go on a vacation to the UK what public official who’s under such scrutiny and they can’t serve him a warrant he’s going to go leave to go on vacation something smells very fishy here TIT

Which raises the question of why such a high ranking RTP required immediate PM intervention when preliminary investigations implicated BJ in alleged corruption. And why the PM personally assigned a "committee" to further investigate those allegations versus making a referral to the Department of Special Investigations to independently  investgate the allegations.

Mafia like , money laundering structures exposed within the RTP ... Thailand risks to lose it's beloved " face " over this ... and many high-ranking officers fear that their " unusual wealth " may be discovered ...?

Will he be coming back from his holiday in the UK or seeking a longer stay abroad like a few other recents.

Maybe the cops don't know, but Big Joke had to go to the UK...Took a 1st class flight to stay with his relatives in Kensington.....or Chelsea.....:))

He's making a quiet bank transfer of funds which will prove to the right people that he is innocent of any wrong doing.

Corruption within the RTP is not shocking, what’s shocking is how nothing can ever be done, corrupt police are hardly ever jailed only transfer to inactive positions, and at the end of the days it’s always a big misunderstanding.

Yep. He's part of it all, not innocent as claimed on here, but the more he rocks the boat, the more his own wrongdoings will be exposed.

 

Only going to end up in exile or assassination if he keeps on going down this path. 

Corruption is rife in the police in the past i refused to make a donation if I had I could have had it done and dusted within a few hours and my property returned instead I had to wait a further few weeks ! I would imagine if Big Joke sings a lot of high ranking police will be going abroad on extended holidays never to return as I doubt they hold as much power as the fugitive has !

The friendly British born people aren't hard to find - it's the ones living there who weren't born there that's the problem. And there are one or two nice beaches, it's the weather that's hard to find! Especially this time of year - 4 seasons in 1 day!

He was also publicly admonished by Prayut in March 2020, via an formal letter, for misconduct and negligence.

 

 

He has also threatened that if he were to release all the dirt he has on the RTP that organization would be severely hampered.

 

 

He doesn't appear to play well with others.

 

 

If he wishes to be the hero of RTP rooting out bad guys he must first ensure he’s not doing anything wrong. If he is, it means he’s either dumb or just arrogant, or perhaps a typical Thai with no foresight and doing things with little consideration of what happens next. 

He must apply for a Tourist Visa to UK and show bank incomes… Just saying🤔
