topt Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 I guess if nothing else is available you may miss Liptons but personally I find their tea bags somewhat insipid......... I think even the Makro own brand (if available) are probably better and as Trans posted lots of options online - all be it a little more expensive. 2
Moonlover Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 Yup they're completely gone from the shelves of all supermarkets in Sakon Nakhon. I've just ordered 2 boxes (200 bags) via Lazada.
Daffy D Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 Been missing from my local Lotos's for some weeks now Does Makro still have them?
garygooner Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 All gone in Bangkok Villa & BIG C for a few weeks now. Could it be cargo problems? Anyway, too hot for tea atm.
brianthainess Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 They are next to the Branston Pickle Oh there's none of that anywhere in Thailand either not even on-line. 1
Popular Post worgeordie Posted March 30, 2024 Popular Post Posted March 30, 2024 Lipton's tea bags , is that the yellow package one ? ,long time ago that's all I could get ,waiting for family to bring proper tea bags from UK ,Gnat's piss comes to mind , you could leave in the cup all day and it would still be weak , They are an American thing ,maybe for making "Iced tea" a Scotsman ,Lipton who had Grocery shops in UK ,took Liptons tea to USA , but he must have changed something to cater to American taste ,it's tea Jim ,but not as we know it. regards worgeordie 1 1 1 2

Popular Post scubascuba3 Posted March 30, 2024 Popular Post Posted March 30, 2024 Lipton has to be the worst weakest tea available here, 2 bags makes it drinkable, better to buy Brit tea from expat stores or Lazada like Tetley or Typhoo 6 1
up2you2 Posted October 26, 2024 Author Posted October 26, 2024 Five months - still no Liptons. For a while there I was able to buy something similar - Heladiv, but now they to are also not being stocked. Central are talking about next month they will have stock again, but Big C said today there were production issues.
BritManToo Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 On the other hand Typhoo tea is now 109bht for 100 bags with free delivery. 2
garygooner Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Villa in BK hasn't had Lipton tea for ages. They do have PG Tips. Is that any good? 1

dddave Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 If there are any Indian grocers nearby, check there. I buy my Lipton bags at one close to my Bangkok Apt.

Andrew Dwyer Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 As BritMan stated Typhoo is readily available on Lazada as is Yorkshire Tea ( but the price might put you off Yorkshire ). Lipton’s is the poorest tea available imho and i am amazed it sells !! PG Tips seems to be going the same way, weaker than a Larry Grayson handshake ! 1
CanadaSam Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 A little off-topic, but fascinating! While in Sri Lanka, I met a "tea taster". Real high salary, and his only job was to taste the tea after harvesting! He needed to blend the right harvested teas together, to produce the exact taste(s) that various brands wanted / required. Obviously had to give up a lot, super spicy foods, (or any food before his work shift) not much alcohol, etc. etc. But he gets to drive a new mercedes in a fairly poor country.....
brianthainess Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 On the upside Macvitie's ginger nuts are back in my Big C , Weetabix, and Original Branston Pickle is back on line.

Couldn't find them on line from my normal shopping sights, ( and of course no shipping fee) sorry I can't remember how much but as I hadn't seen them for 2 years I brought 2 packs and ate near 1/2 a packet for my lunch. .........

That's OK, found them on Lazada for 65bht/packet including delivery.
josephbloggs Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 I just checked in Villa Thonglor - no Liptons. But as others have said it really is the most insipid "tea" you could ever have. I brought back about 1,000 Yorkshire tea bags on a recent UK visit. Villa did have Wispa bars though which I have never noticed before. Delicious!! 1
Jeff the Chef Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Tetley for the win, proper Yorkshire tea, builders strength.
Njoku Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Got tired of looking in different supermarkets here in Pattaya for my Liptons, I order 100 tea bags a time through Lazada

seajae Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 mate we have it most evenings, bought it on lazada at a good price
GypsyT Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 I've been looking for my favorite "Twinings Earl Grey Black Tea" at Big-C, Lotus and others in Bangkok but no luck. Didn't see any Liptons either. No bag tea at all! What's going on?
