why not? The charges are alleged not provem.......what are you expecting police checks in the UK to unearth? This hasn't been to court and may not do for quite some time. It would be a travesty of justice if she was granted UK citizenship or anything else that would permit her to stay in the country.  Can Thailand file for her to be extradited back to Thailand?

Even if she got British citizenship (she won't) then the UK has a mechanism for dealing with, and seizing "unexplained" or ill gotten wealth. This was used against the wife of a central asian country's corrupt banker.
