The Tourist Police in Thailand have warned a British tourist identified as Mr. Thomas, against posting videos criticising the country on social media, citing the potential harm to the nation's image and security.

The deputy inspector of Mae Hong Son Tourist Police, Pol. Lt. Col. Suwit Boonyaphen, stated that Mr. Thomas's videos were critical of Thai public and private agencies.

Mr. Thomas was tracked down at his residence in Pai district where police urged him to understand the potential consequences of his actions. He was ordered to delete all his videos hosted on YouTube and other social media platforms and was taken to the police station for recording the incident.

Mr. Thomas was informed that if he continues posting potentially harmful material about Thailand online, he could face prosecution under Thai law.

Nevertheless, a senior officer from the national Tourist Police headquarters stated the existing evidence would be forwarded to the Immigration Police for further action, implying that Mr. Thomas has already violated Thai law.

Mr Thomas has now apologized on YouTube:

Did you just damage the nation there?

Careful as you go there......

Having said that, I  know this youtube channel - it's named 'Esoteric Entrepreneur' and the guy is a bit of a nut 🤣

He's started posting videos again, if they boot out this idiot then we had better all get ready to lick boots for the rest of our lives or risk his inevitable fate - I reckon he will almost certainly get kicked out.

Thailand is great at this....  No one would have heard of this guy, now they push him further into the public eye.

Should authorities also punish themselves for making his videos reach a greater audience ???

The juvenile minds of those in authority seeking 'revenge' rather than whats best for the country again.... Also, if the guy's criticism are genuine and valid... listen to them, act upon them....

Not to criticise, but why's that policeman wearing a batman helmet?

So what is his YouTube channel so we can check it out and see what he has been saying and make up our own minds about it?

I just told you the channel name - scroll up a little, he's deleted most of his videos.

Probably just all a misunderstanding.

They don't understand British sense of humor.

There are several subjects that are strictly taboo in Thailand, where one is not allowed to discuss them and god

forbids if you dare to criticise, but this is their country, take it or leave it...

If they think thats bad, wait until he leaves the country,

"citing the potential harm to the nation's image and security."

It's so sad that the Thai authorities just don't understand how ridiculous it makes them look in the eyes of international opinion.

If it's true then accept it and do something about it - but in true Thai style the reaction is to suppress or sweep it under the carpet. ...and will of course have the opposite effect.

 posting videos criticising the country

It baffles me why people come to Thailand and enjoy all that it has to offer then post negativity.

It's confusing, this strange behaviour is quite common.

Maybe these people are attention seekers, similar to those on OnlyFans, the Jerry Springer type.

Is Britain perfect, no it has lots of issues, more issues than Thailand.

Why doesn't this clown go back to Britain and fix things there or better still go to Australia it's going downhill quickly.

I like Thailand and all its quirks and features that why I choose to live here.

You say positive outcomes, there's nothing negative about Thailand, leave it alone.

Thailand has made too many changes over the many years I've been living here, making changes, giving in to these moaners.

I think if he is booted out... He can repost everything and then a special one showing what the police did and their unwillingness to accept there are problems in the country that the world should see and know about. Unless his videos (which i have never seen) are making baseless claims or talking bad about the king. What law has been broken?

OMB shades of the KGB, Stasi etc and other oppressive policing organisations.

National security is the blanket term used when such fragile government's have no real reason to clamp down on people.

A complete joke making the organs of government look even more ridiculous than they already are.
