It might be time for this country to evlolve or  grow up and say "the opinons expressed on this youtube channel  are not true".  Also, in terms of defammation in other parts of the world actual damage(s) muut have occurred.  What is the actual damage when a nobody with phone rants about a country? What next? Ban youtube?

"Sticks and bones will break my bones but words expressed on a insignificant youtube channel will not hurt me".  Or just a rebuttal video.

It might be time for all the whining whinging Brits to go back home.

I am glad the police have warned him to pull his head in.

Showing up here uninvited and he wants to make money on youtube complaining about his hosts,

Thais hate whiners and it is a sign of a weak personality to them. And a big part of the reason I like living here so much.

The worst part about living here is all these Brits who constantly complain about everyone and everything.

Many simply do not have the ability to say anything positive about anyone. They dont fit in here.

He has been warned and looks like he might have accepted that he was in the wrong and the Thais are not interested in his krap.

But i dout it will have a long term effect on him.

Leapards dont change their spots.

The action of the authorities over this, will be the thing that may damage Thailand's reputation not his video's.

The Barbra Streisand effect.....      ... the unintended consequence of attempts to hide, remove, or censor information, where the effort instead increases public awareness...   Thailan

Neither do 'Leopards'   🤪

Is there a law that foreigners and especially tourists can't criticize their hosts? I don't know.

But it seems most of us don't like it if foreigners talk bad about our home country or maybe people from our nationality or whatever group.

And that is similar to i.e. a company. Is it possible to tell the boss that he has strains on his shirt? Yes. But better do it in private with him alone and not in a post on facebook or similar. That doesn't win you any friends.

So what exactly did he say in his videos?

Should authorities also punish themselves for making his videos reach a greater audience ???

How did I know I would find the Chief Brit Apologist here. Brits just cant take critisism.

The juvenile minds of those in authority seeking 'revenge' rather than whats best for the country again.... Also, if the guy's criticism are genuine and valid... listen to them, act upon them....

The juvenile is the idiot youtuber who wants to show up to a country and slag of the people and the culture to get youtube likes and who cries when he gets asked to pull his head in.

Instaead of constantly whining why doesnt he just leave.

Real men take responsibility for their actions and are willing to admit their shortcomings. Tiny men take offense from the smallest things, cannot handle criticism, and their arrogance prevents them from seeing the need to change and improve.

This unbelievably dumb behavior on the part of the Thai officials is not beneficial for the nation, trying to suppress this type of information is a form of Bolshevik or Stalinist policy, and the news that will get out as a result of this kind of thing will be likely far worse than the impact a negative video could have on the nation. Nobody likes a government that engages in overreach and suppression. So, the question is does Thailand consider it to be a free and open society, or does Thailand want to emulate China and North Korea?

is this further proof that Thailand is anything but a democracy?

No the video he referenced. That's just his response to it. I want to hear what the Thai newscasters have to say about us pesky farangs.

bob.

I would like to post my experience of my visit to an outpatient dept for a follow up after a stent, all 10 hours of pushing sweating which includes a 2 hour wait at the pharmacy, for  the 4 minutes face to face with the doctor with another patient in the room but best not for fear of upsetting somebody

His apology video:

Those crocodile tears move me to…crocodile tears.

Not sorry for what he did.  Sorry he was caught and pinned to the wall.

Excellent, now just need to get the wife to the UK on a visitor visa, write a bad review of thailand and claim asylum for fear of prosecution

Imagine a country so childish that they feel the need to have a continuous water fight go on for 72 straight hours. Welcome to Thailand.

Agree 100% . Most normal people grow out of water fights after 11 years old.

He said  very tame things about the work ethnic of Thai people.  Honest criticism that ANY person has when hiring Thai people. Instead of being babies Thailand should understand they have a problem and try to fix it. Only losers and failures can't take constructive criticism.

One more point on the PPTV video above. He talked about how he was going to pay off the police if it comes to that. Even the newscasters admit Thai people know this happens but they don't talk about. He probably just pissed off the local police by running his mouth. Something to learn from.

So here's a summary of his crimes:

1) Thinks Thai people are lazy workers.

2) Thinks Thai police are corrupt.

Any Thai person that doesn't think the same needs their head checked.

Well, I watched that video and concluded that he is either mentally-deranged, or his brain has turned to soup due to drugs, or a combination of both.....

Nevertheless, a senior officer from the national Tourist Police headquarters stated the existing evidence would be forwarded to the Immigration Police for further action, implying that Mr. Thomas has already violated Thai law.

Wonder what type visa/extension he has. Clearly not eligible for a retirement extension, hope to God he's not a teacher, and I don't think there is a Youtuber visa.

It baffles me why people come to Thailand and enjoy all that it has to offer then post negativity.

It's confusing, this strange behaviour is quite common.

Maybe these people are attention seekers, similar to those on OnlyFans, the Jerry Springer type.

I do wonder if this video is going to help him, what with him walking around the entire time with a smirk on his face.

So what is his YouTube channel so we can check it out and see what he has been saying and make up our own minds about it?

I thought his rant was fairly accurate! (If slightly inarticulate)

Look at all the top comments on the PPTV video. Thai people know this is BS too.

The actual problem seems to be the Pai police. What's more likely is Tom pissed off the wrong people in Pai and now they've got the corrupt Pai to go after him. TIT

Hmm, but perhaps saying all these things 'on film' whilst living in Thailand was not the brightest of ideas 🙂
