An American man named Selva Delano Mudaliar was taken into custody by Thai police in Bangkok's Bang Phlat district yesterday. The man was previously on the run after being charged with multiple sex offenses in the United States.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had been working with Thailand's Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) to extradite Mudaliar, a 37-year-old US citizen of Asian descent. He is reported to be 180 cm tall and weighs 90 kg.

Mudaliar's criminal past includes numerous violent attacks, kidnapping, rape, and forcing his victims into sex trafficking, according to an article in Matichon. Mudaliar was charged with 11 counts related to sexual violence, assault, and sex trafficking, all of which could lead to life imprisonment. He avoided court appearances after being released on bail.

Thailand had been Mudaliar's home for over three months, the FBI discovered. Since arriving in Thailand in February on a tourist visa, he had been moving around constantly, mostly staying in hotels and rented apartments throughout Bangkok.

Mudaliar was known to frequent local nightlife spots and interact with both Thai and foreign women. He often invited women to his place, but there haven't been any reports of offenses committed against women in Thailand.

After extensive investigation, the police nabbed Mudaliar in his Bangkok apartment on May 6. He will be extradited to the US for subsequent legal action.

The CIB proudly revealed its successful operation, noting that it only took 10 days to locate and apprehend the foreign offender.

Ten days? No mention of the Red Bull absconder?

  • Popular Post

Too bad that he wasn't nabbed in Singapore. They would have caned him before turning him over to the US authorities. In the US he will likely get a slap on the wrist and released. That's one of many reasons that left the United Soocialists States of Amerika long ago.

Mr red bull has a very rich well connected daddy to pay off many other rich and well connected people to allow him to never ever be held accountable for killing a cop while all hyped up on coke and driving like a maniac then lying about it all and "hiding" in plain site for years....shame on the entire "justice" system of thailand for allowing this to play out.  Inspector Clousaeu could find him and arrest him in about one day but the entire weight of the thai police and justice system can't find him even though they have been looking for years....yeah right.

90kg should only take a small plane or helicopter to get him to where he belongs. A lot of beautiful age appropriate ladies in this world w0nkers like this deserve what they get!!!!

I suspect he will handle himself pretty well inside. Looks a solid unit.

As he's being extradited, he will be far from the biggest guy in an American prison. Maybe they can 'traffic' him from cell to cell..?

Good luck with that when it is 10 on 1 armed with metal pipes or bats.

I remember very welll watching a guy that looked like the rock get the crap beat out of him by about 10 motorbike taxi drivers in front of nana plaza one day....he was the ultimate tatooed muscle guy but those baseball bats put an end to his macho man BS...got hauled away as a total bloody unconcious mess and no idea if he survived or died.  All apparently over a few baht to a taxi driver.

I suspect that every single Thai person knows full well that if the goal was to arrest mr red bull and bring him back that would have been done long ago.  Seems he really doesn't even have to hide at all as he is an "untouchable".  For all the talk from top govt officials about eliminating corruption not one of them apparently is willing to take on the red bull protectors all of which should also be in jail.

On a tourist visa applicaiton a criminal background or warrant check is not conducted.  Therefore, what kind of people are actually entering LOS on tourist visa's or visa exemption?

I don’t believe that to be an accurate statement. Assuming he didn’t commit any crimes in Singapore, he would not be punished there. He would be extradited, just as is happening in Thailand. So no caning.

Plenty of recent stories being reported in the Thai media about local and foreign women filing complaints with the police against abusive partners, family members and 'Tinder' losers.

The post was asking how he got out of the US not how did he get into Thailand. Surely he should have been flagged as wanted and arrested at the US airport when he tried to leave

When one boards an international flight the TSA checks passports and boarding passes.  TSA agents are not Law Enforcment Officers and do not have access to criminal wants and warrants databases.  When one enters the USA from an international port of enty CBP(Customs and Border Protection) officers decide if one can enter or not.   CBP officers are Federal Law Enforcement Officers. This person's passport should have been surrendered to the court.  This decision rests on the judge who is presiding over criminal proceedings over this person.

The question isn't "how did he get into Thailand?".  It's, "how did he get out of the USA?".  With 11 pending charges and out on bail, they should have confiscated his passport(s), put him on the no fly lists, and had him in an ankle monitor.  In a non-dystopian state, he wouldn't get bail after his 2nd charge.

But in a blue state...
