Thai Pakdee to Contest the Legitimacy of the People's Party Formation

Dr. Warong Dechgitvigrom, leader of the pro-monarchy Thai Pakdee party, has raised concerns over the legality of the formation of the new People’s party. In a Facebook post today, he announced his intention to ask the Election Commission (EC) to investigate the legal processes involved.

Warong specifically questioned whether the name change from ‘Thin Ka Khao Chao Wilai’ party to ‘Prachachon’ (People’s) party complied with the law. According to Warong, referencing data from the EC’s website, the ‘Thin Ka Khao Chao Wilai’ party, originally established in 2012, only has three branch offices—two in the northern region and one in the central region. He pointed out that the party lacks branches in the southern and north-eastern regions, a requirement under the Political Parties Act to maintain its status.

In light of these discrepancies, Warong urged the EC to undertake a thorough investigation to ensure the legitimacy of the People’s party's formation. Transparency, he explained, is crucial for maintaining public trust in the electoral process.

On the other side, the newly formed People’s party has seen remarkable support from the public. Just today, they announced that donations have exceeded 20 million baht and membership has climbed to over 38,000 in just two days since its establishment.

The People’s party reported on their website last night that donations totalling 20,353,671 baht by 8 PM on Saturday will fund their operations for the next three months. Detailed expenditure plans were also shared: 7.9 million baht will be allocated for head office operations, 1.6 million baht for election campaigning and an emergency fund, 6.6 million baht for party activities across the country, and 4.1 million baht for other essential activities.

The unfolding events have already sparked considerable interest and debate among political observers, who eagerly await the EC’s findings and any potential impact on the People’s party’s future.

The new PP should use some of its recent donations to hire a crack team of lawyers to look for skeletons in the wardrobe of other parties. Seek and ye shall find , knock and it will be opened.

The current elite and leaders are very afraid of the new party and again it shows that they will do everything to prevent that things change in Thailand. Now after a few days they found another stupid rule to stop this party and together with the other culprit who ant to charge 44 MP's they are trying to block the 14 million votes and more....Keepm on going and we will get the same situation as in Myanmar, where Ms Aung Syu is in prison as oppostion leader..

Be afraid Doctor. Be very afraid.

The people will decide eventually.

You had better hope that the people who are sponsoring (ordering?) you will protect you when that day comes.

Can not see the point to this !!!! going around in circles !! dissolved, new name, dissolved .new name, what is the point ?? this is not how you run a country ? Thais must realize the world is watching this farce, just showing what a bunch  of muppets they are

Nothing will change for the better till there are hundreds of thousands of people out on the streets of BKK AND of every other city AND the Army lads (as opposed to the ol' men) come out alongside the masses ... I live for the day.

These dinosaurs live a life filled with fear. Fear of change, fear of reform, fear of progress, fear of the unknown, fear of looking within. Who knows what they might find? Perhaps the source of their problems. And of course, fear of their wealth being threatened. They are absolute losers, and highly insecure people, who know very little about their inner selves, and have done very little in the way of spiritual work on themselves.

And worst of all, they seem to care not one iota for the well being of their people. It must be difficult living with such a cold and lifeless heart of stone.

Consciousness is only possible through change; change is only possible through movement

One can only hope wish and pray that many of the creeps holding back the nation end up behind bars, or exiled. At this point, it seems like a distant dream. But, things have a way of changing and evolving and these goons are in the way of that change and progress.

The dinosaurs seem to be getting younger here in Thailand.....different faces but same xenophobic mentality.....only the elites and military are allowed to be strong!!

So, when they win, the "good guys" will exact revenge on anyone who stood against them before they got into power?

A worrying attitude to have (especially given the name of the new party).

Pita did an interview with the Guardian yesterday......not sure why he didn't choose The Daily Fail or the The Daily Excess?

He stated the judiciary and military are intent on 'exterminating' them.

Think that is pretty obvious,  looks like they are on the path again of self destruction, this is no way to run a country but nothing will change the Thais will just go around in circles, not enough intelligence to say lets change all this, Democracy is not given the Thais have to fight for it,  but the Thais don't have the guts to rebel, unfortunately the fight is NOT at the ballot box, the whole system is corrupt and until that is fix the "same same" will still exist. why do you think the Myanmar people are fighting

The secretary-general of the Election Commission (EC) has dismissed a challenge to the status of the People's Party, the reincarnation of the disbanded Move Forward Party, saying the new party has just opened branches in all regions of the country.5

So this time around change tactics, do-not give any ammunition to the elites, the EC or CC to disband you again

Keep your campaign policies on the economy and tourism, win the hearts and minds of the people who will vote you into power.

Once in power then have a public referendum vote to change the constitution.

Anyway , the People's party has opened enough branch offices already .

It seems they are better organized by now .

The new leader does not hold any shares in media companies , I hope ...

Whole-heartedly agree!  It's time the new People's Party played SMART, there is no need to drag the Monarchy into this, you do not need it to win, at all!  Wait till you're in power.

Second, get the most intelligent lawyers to dig up all the dirt on your party and members, and eliminate that cannon-fodder for the dinosaurs trying to "eliminate" you!

And cross your t's, follow ALL election rules to eliminate that bunch of low-lifes from disbanding you yet once again!!!

And that's even better!

Go on the OFFENSIVE!  Get a TEAM of lawyers going through the past of every single person in power at the moment, senators, mp's, etc., and dig up all the dirt on them, and file lawsuits, one after the other, against all their past wrong-doings, and try to get them thrown out of power by the "EC"!

Keep them busy chasing each other's tails, too busy to try and find dirt on you!

If I remember right, any change to the constitution requires a majority vote from the Senate. A difficult task as it's stuffed with conservatives supporting Anuthin's party

Thought that the present government are already suppose to be changing  the constitution

100%....but the question arises....would they have garnered 14 million votes without the radical promises they made?

They don't seem to be learning their lesson.  Every time they dissolve the party, the new iteration emerges even stronger.  Another thread has the new People's Party at 84% support, with PT at 9%.   Clearly, Whack-A-Mole isn't working.

The power now is in the hands of a coalition who all banded together to win over MFP

I reckon an easy 75% want all these idiots out... that's more than enough to do it next time around

What "radical promises"? IMHO they were all very reasonable, possibly even too conservative to be modern in a western sense.
