When I moved there in 1978 I was stun how harmonious the country was. Everybody got along well.

Yes, the US is hopelessly divided at the moment.  But I sincerely believe that when Trump loses the election in November and is out of the picture, things will improve.  The Republican party will start to rebuild itself and the true conservatives will re-emerge.  MAGA will be history....good riddance.

I think you're wrong UNLESS there is a massive blue landslide.

The maga fascist movement is now unfortunately much bigger than just Trump. 

They won't quit the maga stuff quickly or easily unless they're forced to humiliating large losses.

Half of the country believes in MAGA. Trump is too old at the next election, but Musk is a young man with money to burn. Don't count Musk out carrying the MAGA flame in 2028.
