I don't know that I agree with b. HRC almost won simply because she was the Democrat candidate, so I expect similar for Harris. The only question is whether enough in the swing states want a Democrat in the W H or hate Trump enough to vote for her.

A terrible opponent.

It's a nearly impossible feat, and one that Democrats appear poised to accomplish twice.

As a citizen of the USA and a Democrat, I don't see these as "strategic errors."

a) Kamala admits our border policy is broken, but that's been the case for many, many years. Also, the current immigration policies already include deportation if the immigrant is found to not meet the qualifications for being a refugee.

b) Race and gender discrimination are not "strategic errors" of the Democrats. They are unwelcome traits of some people of all political parties.

And bigger strategic errors are being made by the Republicans by choosing Trump...Ukraine and Taiwan will fall within two years if Trump is elected by his cult members...As Trump will pull back forces/support/money out of SE Asia...China will meet little resistance if it wishes to expand its domination of SE Asia which will include Thailand...It might be time for expats to enrol in some Chinese language classes in two weeks

I really can't get my head around the idea that about 75 million Americans are so incredibly stupid that they are considering voting for a senile, misogynistic convicted rapist and fraudster, with multiple indictments for theft, Treason, inciting a riot, Election interferance and others , to be the President of the USA.

It's impossible to process in a rational way so don't even try.

If all Trump had was his core cult which is about 30 percent he would have zero chance.

So looking at the margin that might push him into a win in the electoral college (but never in the popular vote) I just look at them as being conned and being very low information voters.

A very common excuse to vote for him is that his first time wasn't that bad or even good so why be afraid of Trump 2.0?

That is a position of intellectual laziness failing to take into the account the greatly changed situation since then and that if he wins he will surround himself with only loyalists, nobody to keep him in check, and a supreme court that has bizarrely and corruptly ruled that acting as president ANYTHING GOES. Then you hear what he wants to do such as send the military after political opponents, etc. and you can begin to see what a second term means.

     One thing to remember is the American people rejected Trump twice.  In 2016 he lost by 2.8 million votes.  A landslide in favor of Clinton.  Not a close race by any means by vote count.  Actual American voters didn't want him.  In 2020 he lost by 7 million votes--even more voters didn't want him.  An even bigger landslide in favor of Biden.

     In 2024, actual American voters will likely prefer the Democrat candidate over Trump once again.  But, the Electoral College may award the presidency to Trump, as it did in 2016 over the wishes of the American voters.  Trump is a two-time loser with the American voters and likely will be a three-time loser with the voters after this election.
