Zelensky was ready to negotiate after 5 days until the UK & US stopped him, they're the reason this war continued.

The vacant insecure biden reign can be noted for the sheer chaos worldwide it caused. I suspect just like with Saddam, that Asaad will be better than what follows, in Syrias case a resergence of ISIS.

Well this is good news.

[sarcasm]

All the Syrian illegal (and legal) immigrants in the UK will now be able to return home to rebuild their country.

[/sarcasm]...

We can live in hope, but probably Assad, and all his entourage are already on a dinghy in the channel, filling out the claim forms.

I would say the opposite, the Yanks wanted to get rid of Assad since 2011,it was part of their 5/7 country  war plan under obama.

Putins support stopped them in 2015, but I guess now he is occupied so they seized the opportunity. <deleted> the USA

Are you Syrian Girl from X?

I suppose you never lived in a one man military dictatorship for years? Listening to the same man rattling on and on while his inner crowd get wealthier . Believe me a change is as good as a rest .

Libya says hello. The people had cheap fuel, homes when married, didn't pay for electricity, healthcare free, education free (including women), and even sent abroad for education all paid for. Of course it was highly authoritarian and there must be drawbacks to that. But now they have the same <deleted> authoritarian and a country in the dumps.

What old?

All the gold that Gaddafi had, or perhaps your MSM propaganda channels didn't cover that part of the illegal invasion, 3000-4000 tonnes, worth billions, looted by the UK, US , French and other allies, but that's ok as it was all about human rights yeah?

This interview with a former UK diplomat, who seems to be well informed on the background to the situation in the region, throws some light on how the recent blitzkrieg occurred.  And likely complications that will be at play.  Nothing is as simple as assumed.

What invasion?   Who invaded who?

According to recent data, Libya has approximately 146.65 metric tons of gold reserves, placing it among the top gold reserve holders in Africa, with most sources stating it as the fourth largest gold reserve holder on the continent

This link has a graph of Lybia's total gold reserves over time.

But shortly before he died, Gaddafi sold a fifth of Libya’s gold reserves, and most of the proceeds from this sale are still missing. The so-called Panama Papers could now shed light on the search for this incredible fortune.

At this stage, and Lavrov confirms in his sitdown with Tucker, those controlling the empty shell of biden are poisoning the well and leaving as much of a mess as possible.

As we saw last time Trump did miracles undoing the mess obama left in the MiddleEast. Can Trumps stiff broom work wonders again making the region safe and calm again.

We can't afford for democrats to EVER seize power again. What a clusterbang

Well, there's a comment based on nothing but ignorance. Geopolitical eks bert are you? And what did 45 do that was a miracle?  Better than the fish and loaves myth? Silly.

Explain how Syria is Biden's fault.

Maybe Tulsi Gabbard, the nominee for DNI, and Assad's best friend in the US can give you the lowdown?

He's a conspiracy theorist. Don't bother him with things like facts. Delusion is his stock in trade.

As yet the Russian bases in Syria have been left untouched and in general the assumption of full control by the "rebel" forces has been significantly uneventful.

It is being revealed that the demise of Assad was a negotiated outcome.

It will be interesting to see if the new admin will combine military assets to focus on regaining the Golan Heights ?

Trump may yet have to take a position on that as an ally of Israel despite declaring "not our fight" in Syria even when US forces have just undertaken massive airstrikes on purported ISIS camps in central Syria.

Certainly nothing has really been simplified in the region !

You realize if Putin thinks Russia is about to fall to western perverted liberslism he will unleash nukes and we are all ashes?

There is no winner in such a scenario. What are the left smoking to think attacking Russia is a good idea? It's not

More likely that Putin would be removed if it looked like Russia were about to collapse since not everyone there with influence would want to be roasted alive.

While of course good that Assad is out, the folks that will come in could make things worse. These guys do not get on with others and couldn't organise a pissup in a brewery... if they drank that is. The entire region is a complete cluster F.
