Does Trump completely lack decency and compassion?

Easy to see who the dumb one is by the replies that don't even address the OP.

If Trump hasn't done anything, but the current president hasn't done anything either, does that not say something about the attempted criticism of Trump?

You must realise that comparing Trump's performance as president elect to that of the current president (whose response is for some reason not being mentioned) is totally relevant.

So typical of a Trump supporter, always deflection and never an answer to the question at large.

Which behaviour do you have in mind that parents may be encouraging their children to imitate?

You're talking about Biden (and Harris), obviously, yes?

The wildfires are raging in Southern California, more than 2,000 homes have been destroyed, 10 people have died and the fires continue to rage on, and what do we get from the man who will be leading our nation in two weeks? Criticism of the governor and an absolute desire to make this political.

Is this his version of diplomacy, is this his version of decency, humanity and sympathy? Is this really the best he can do and the best that he has to offer in the way of leadership?

As thousands flee their homes in California due to wildfires, US President-Elect Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on Governor Gavin Newsom, saying "this is all his fault" and he must quit. Earlier, Trump alleged that the Governor's policies were to blame for the situation in some of the US's most prominent cities. The Governor has hit back, saying people are fleeing and the President-Elect's response is to politicise it.

Among the worst-hit areas is Los Angeles, home to top Hollywood celebrities. At least five people have been killed and 2,000 buildings damaged as firefighters struggle to control the blaze. Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said they don't have enough firefighters to tackle the situation. "We're doing the very best we can. But no, we don't have enough fire personnel in LA County between all the departments to handle this," he said, according to an AFP report.

He is correct and these outrageous policy failures will be addressed. Meanwhile, as extraordinary as it sounds, the President is Biden.

Waiting for “It’s Trumps fault “.

Well, it is Trump's fault, in a way.

The offal discharge from millions of liberal skulls exploding is apparently inflammable, one of the many 'mostly peaceful' rioters/looters must have sparked the current conflagration, possibly even sparks from an illegal alien drive by shooting could have set it off.

But it's all okay, we "need to give them space to burn."

Now that is the definition of deflection @spidermike007

Absolutely nothing to do with the fires.

But plenty to do with the op question.

What do you expect? He has already proven himself during his previous tenure by throwing toilet rolls to storm ravaged survivors in Puerto Rico and re-drawn national government weather maps with his own marker pen in the oval office to explain his erroneous tweets on a hurricane path!

Biden and Newsom have already communicated about the issue . Typically Biden has avoided grandstanding .

Trump has quickly resorted to attempting  demeaning rants as some sort of associate victim .

The wildfire problem in California is a political issue.

Poorly managed forests because the greens/left wants them natural. Brush and dead dying trees used to be removed, not anymore.

Snow runoff and rain allowed to flow into the ocean rather than filling the reservoirs because the greens/left want to save the Delta Smelt and Salmon runs.

Water storage long=term planned water projects canceled, and dams demolished because the greens/left want to a more "natural" environment.

Los Angeles mayor Los Angeles Mayor cuts fire department funding by $17.6M but has plenty of money for homeless and illegals.

Los Angeles fire chief brags about focusing on DEI.

So not enough firemen, and not enough water to supply the fire hydrants.

Many of the homes that burned are uninsured, because insurance companies were not allowed to increase premiums to keep up with the risk.

Can you explain in your own words or is this too complicated for you?

Biden’s done nothing.  How do you explain that for the current President.

Trump isn’t President for 10 more days but I’m flattered that you think he is now.  Just like the rest of the world thinks he is.

The Governor has not failed. He didn't create the Santa Anna winds. Nor is he responsible for a multi year drought. No amount of money spent could have stopped this tragedy.

A small number of people have moved elsewhere.

For such a failed stated, it seems to  have the largest GDP in the USA and  contributes 14%+ of the US GDP. For some strange reason, Republican states. don't have the same contribution. Maybe it is because they are filled with people, MAGA stalwarts Laura Loomer , Elon Musk and Donald Trump Jr. call "retards".

So the reason for Trump bashing on this PARTICULAR thread is?????

Hydrants are not dry. There was water supply, bu it was unable to meet demand. The issue in Pacific Palisades is that there was a demand for water that a standard  fire hyrant and water supply system could not meet. It is common sense that if every  fire hydrant is opened and is in use, there will be inadequate water  pressure and water to  reach and supply all of the hydrants in the system. What happens when you open every tap and flush every  toilet, and use your washing machine and shower all at the same time? Do you have sufficient water supply and pressure to do that?

Are you an engineer? Please share with us how you would supply sufficient water  with which to  control a  100% involved  multi square km. residential conflaguration.

If this was the first time it happened then yes, but its not, so clearly the correct measures were not put in place,  so where does the blame fall?

Its nit Trumps fault, so who's. Newsom, Biden.... some body is in charge

Mr. trump is taking cheap shots at a political adversary. The correct action would have been to offer support for the  victims of the catastrophe and to try and be positive. It is what every President has done for 150+ years. Making false claims does not help anyone. People at some point will tire of this.  Governor De Santis showed class when he offered  moral support to Californians.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) offered assistance to California on Wednesday as the state grapples with severe wildfires in the greater Los Angeles area.

“Our prayers are with everyone affected by the horrific fires in Southern California,” DeSantis said in a post on social platform X. “When disaster strikes, we must come together to help our fellow Americans in any way we can.” “The state of Florida has offered help to assist the people of California in responding to these fires and in rebuilding communities that have been devastated,” he wrote.  DeSantis and Newsom have a rivalry going back to the coronavirus pandemic, yet DeSantis put his country before politics. That's  the right thing to do.

Please tell me what you want trump to do? He's not president.

Maybe Biden should do something, oh forgot he doesn't know what's going on in the world.

Hmm maybe the governor should ask for help to get more needed firefighters.  Maybe the national guard?

I have zero interest in US politics, but can someone please clarify one thing?

Did Trump win the election to be the next president?  Yes. So that seems to suggest (to me) that more people want him to be president than the other candidates.

Does that mean that all those people that voted for him are idiots?  Seems to be that there are a lot of bad losers on this forum....

What? No one is to blame, other than the population of California for building in high risk zones. And what happens when a state tries to block land development? Cries of socialist meddling.

How would you have built a water delivery system that would supply water that could extinguish hundreds of buildings burning at once under gale force winds? There isn't a city in the world that has that capability. Even cities built on waterways don't have the ability to pump the amounts of water needed to supress this kind of conflaguration.

People want to blame someone, anyone for thei rown poor choices. People have been told for decades that building on steep slopes in earthquake zones isn't a good idea. They are told not to build in flood zones and in hurricane zones, but they do. When governments  try to  enact building codes that do not allow ceder shake and shingle rooves or high flammable decorative vegetation, people claim that their property rights are being infringed.  When people are told to remove scrub bush, they protest. There is just so much a government can do, or should do.

Trump should not be spreading false information and  blaming a state governor something the  governor has no control over. Trump should  look to Governor DeSantis for a lesson in leadership and civics.
