So I am getting old now and have problems with most off my teeth my question is do I get a full set of teeth implants ( I might not live  many more years  ) Or get some false teeth? What is the cost of a full implant or just a set of false teeth? As you all know it is pretty expansive in the west. Anybody has a full set of teeth removed and had a full set planted or made up false teeth. What is the cost ? For implants or just false teeth (dentures} . So anybody done this either way let me know the approx. price  I will be living west of BKK

Thanks.

You can't get free dentures under the Australian health system being a pensioner ,?

Why would you want teeth implants at near 80

Get informed. Even as a pensioner, dentistry is omitted. I can get one tooth pulled out, which is free. Why do I need new ones? I have trouble eating.

54K per tooth!  I've been quoted 35K in Pattaya.  The dentist's main selling point was 'guaranteed for 30 years'.  I declined on the grounds that I was 82.

no problem to find cheaper, same as beer is possible to be found cheaper in other bars. You pay for location and hopefully better hygiene, equipment and materials used

Mine cost 55 K baht per implant. That was with best quality Swiss bone graft material.

Implants take 1-2 months for a decent job. Any dentist doing implants within 1-2 weeks will have a failure rate of 40-50%.

False teeth are cheaper, but sometimes become ill-fitting due to receding gums.

If the OP has enough teeth left, a partial denture is another option.

Figure of speech, perhaps you are unfamiliar with the expression.

A partial upper was what I went for, cost 17,000 baht and works a treat. At 82 the cost and lengthy procedure of getting implants didn't make much sense. I lost most of my teeth due to badly fitted crowns that allowed decay to get under the crown.

I see that implants cost about 50,000 Baht to 75,000 Baht on average. I have false teeth for the upper teeth. Dentists usually charge about 1,200 Baht per teeth. Though the dentists in Bangkok that serve expats might charge expats a fortune for false teeth. Are false teeth uncomfortable to wear? Not at all. Do I have any regrets about having them? Not at all. I love having them! Why spend 50,000+ Baht per tooth when you can achieve the same goal for about one-fortieth+ instead.

Dentures are pretty cheap. You have to pull the teeth either way, get dentures and see how you like them. A lot of people love them.

I have several implants, and they have all been great.

I’m sure implants would be better.

Grindr is your app Daddy

Had to Google it. You seem to be quite familiar with the app.

So you've never had your @rse chewed by one of your bosses for goofing off with the mop?

Thailand is not the place to get screw in teeth any more. I remember when they charged 20,000 but they have been jacking up the price for years. Eastern Europe is your best bet, even Mexico has kept their price down.

And when was 20k the price? Material and equipment back then?

It is 40 now for a decent tooth

Seems people are quoting single tooth implant prices.

Turkish v Thai prices when I done my research 18mths ago eas about same price.

I had 10 extractions, upper jaw & two wisdom extracted lower jaw. Then 4 implants drilled in Upper jaw to take All on Four implants (Bridge) this was done in Phuket.

I had a week with no upper teeth to allow healing & swelling to subside, then Temp bridge fitted. Worn this for 6 months... Then final checks done & Final Implant Bridge ftd. 12 mths later now, forme was a well worth procedure. Get many comments on my Smile, the total cost in GBP was £12,400 (UK price was frm £24,000)

You get what you pay for... I would say for OP the advancements in dentures also means you may be happy going that route... Go have a talk with A reputable dentist. I used Sea Smile in Patong. Would do again... Just had my 12 monthly check up december - all good, he said see you next yr...

To have a smile like George Clooney.

This kind of intervention into your jaw bone can be a huge strain on your body and also might lead to infections. It is a serious thing to do when 80! You should go for a less invasive solution. Just my opinion...

Personally i wouldnt trust turkey teeth or thai teeth work (apart from a simple filling.Too many horror stories and if something goes wrong dentists in uk will refuse to take on the mess thats left.

just had  4 implants done in england perfect work no problems cost me £2000 each ,worth it for the peace of mind.

I have three implants, done in Thailand. About 8 - 10 years ago, function perfectly.

I also had a partial denture fitted here. When an Australian dentist saw it, he said it was high quality.

Thats great iam sure thete are many good dentists in thailand ,and you sound like you met a good one.

Get a recommendation is a good way to go but i still have more confidence in a uk dentist not to hit my facial nerve

when screwing in the impllant 😀

With only about 8 teeth left in my mouth. I researched the costs for both implants and dentures. 4 implants would not be enough. If you seek implants you may want to look at the prices for implanted dentures rather than teeth. To do my mouth and make a full set of implanted teeth would have cost me over 700,000 baht. For implanted dentures the cost was about 500,000 baht. For normal dentures in both upper and lower jaw with the total amount of teeth being 13 in all. Cost was 17,000 baht. The problem with implants is that there is a waiting period for the skin around the screws implanted to heal before they can attach the teeth. Which could affect your eating habits greatly.
