Agent for renewing UK passport in Bangkok?

Featured Replies

Is there such a thing? I'm sure I once read about an agency that will handle all aspects of the passport renewal process for you at VFS Global, for around 5000 Baht if I remember correctly.

Flights from Udon to BKK return are around the same price, so I figure it makes sense to use an agent, if they exist. Can they be trusted? Any recommendations?

Thanks!

https://www.keyvisathailand.com/services/renewing-uk-passport-thailand/ is another possibility.  Pattaya based but that is not an issue as you only have to send your documents to them by EMS.

Yes, I used this agent. No problem. New Passport + letter for immigration.

Yes that agent has good reviews.

Note: some embassies no longer providing letter for transfer of stamps. That's not an issue.

Bit off topic: here is form CW use for transfer of stamps

Try PDC Visa in Udon.

Last time we used,"Mark's Sending Machine", excellent service

Says it all about the British passport renewal procedures from Thailand, I think, when it seems possible for expats of most other nationalities to be able to renew their passports from Thailand without the need for any assistance from agents!

British can do it too.  I did it recently with zero issues.  But if someone wants to use an agent as they feel more comfortable then it's up to them.  I won't be condescending to them.

My stamp transfer was at Udornthani and only handed them the old and new passport plus letter. But different IMO's do have different requirements for for other things too, something we have to live with I suppose.

In addition to the ridiculous bureaucratic nonsense we Brits locally are subject to at passport renewal time, presumably. In my experience getting existing IMM stamps transferred from old to new passports is a piece of cake in comparison.

Agreed. I don't understand why the B.E. no longer supplies this and that and why they stpped PP renewal.

Good service and cheaper than doing it yourself.

Why/how is it cheaper?

The link I posted in first reply takes you to docs required + costs.

Here...

https://thaivisa-express.com/uk-passport-application-thailand/

Check out any agent via Google and they have contact details.

Please everyone note that this url is both incomplete and possibly inaccurate!

But I have an agent just round the corner who can fix it all, at half their prices, so No Problem.

probably best to get the orgiginal detailed requirements from the UK website!

Guessing that all depends on the cost of 2 trips to Bangkok or maybe Chiang Mai from your location.

Here is link to agent I suggested.

Works fine. Many agents offer this service.

Rather that state.....""I have an agent just round the corner..,."

Just post a link or agent name for folk to Google.

The OP specifically asked for suggestion/recommendations for agent for UK pp renewal.

The agent will advise of required docs and cost.

Simple.

I have used them on 2 occasions, a very good service, saves a lot of running around

I notice @Lite Beer also was satisfied.

Plenty of good agents for this service.

Don't wish to rub it in to UK, USA and Canadian citizens with the need to send old pp with application.

Don't understand why AU application can be done online + post forms to Oz embassy and old pp retained.

How can it be cheaper?

Doing it yourself costs only the price of a new passport

How lazy can one be??

Seems the OP is located in Udon Thani.

Perhaps you are located Bangkok.

Here is thread outlining the process to renew UK pp. Indicates online not possible.

Of course it can be cheaper.  UK passport applications need to submitted in person and collected in person.  So it all depends where someone lives, nothing to do with laziness.

Flights, possible overnight stay X 2, plus all the hassle. All right for those who live round the corner from the UK passport renewal office, I guess!?
