In response to rising criminal activities, Pattaya police have introduced a comprehensive strategy to enhance city safety, deploying newly trained patrol units. This initiative follows alarming incidents, including the discovery of a deceased Thai woman in a British tourist's hotel room, highlighting safety concerns in the area.

To boost security, officers have partnered in patrols and undergone extensive training, focusing on proactive crime deterrence and effective incident response. Police efforts target high-risk zones, utilising the Stop, Walk, and Talk approach to strengthen community relations while maintaining vigilance.

Additional patrols and checkpoints have been established, with officers donning bulletproof vests to ensure safety. Regular inspections and strategic coordination aim to minimise response times to incidents, emphasising the city's commitment to public safety.

Supported by regional and national police forces, Pattaya's security measures aim to reassure both residents and tourists, showcasing an unwavering dedication to maintaining a secure and enjoyable urban environment, reported The Thaiger.

So until now they were not deployed, or not trained, or both?

was that story covered here?

Seems cops are only good at standing at attention in large groups for photos (as above) while the city goes to hell....

"...utilising the Stop, Walk, and Talk approach to strengthen community relations" upgrade from "fish or cut bait" scheme that followed "walk, don't run" crime suppression  implementation

Just leave the mobs of Ladyboys that are reported everyday in the media throwing kicks and punches and beer bottles at unsuspecting tourists that don’t want to have sex with another dude.

They can train whatever/as much  as they want but if they don't get of their butt they won't be of any use to the pubic.

My god!  I’ve seen this kind of stuff too many times and it still makes me sick to my stomach. That’s nasty AF.

They call these guys "Win Mortorsie" and they are a tough uneducated bunch. Much like the group in American and Europe that are torching Teslas.

Damn, man. I just call them cowards that can’t fight. 555. 555.

Didn't help the German guy on beach road last night that got kicked in by a mob of motorbike taxi drivers!  https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1FFqCWLNiK/

If I was in Pattaya, I’d throw Karma them them. How to find them?  Look at fat boy with the motorcycle helmet. He’s not very hard to miss.  I know they cover the ID’s on their jackets and change jacjets and just run amok like this. So how can you be sure (enough)?  Look at his shoes dude. If the police don’t do anything and Thais all either jump in or walk away, someone has to deal with it.

I would if I was there. I don’t know the story, but any kind of insult or sh** talk or dispute about the cost of a motorbike ride in Pattaya doesn’t warrant a brutal beating like that unless that guy’s name was Robby Smith.

I hope someone out there takes this one to the next level. I would, gents.

They were trained and deployed, they just didn’t patrol.  They just sat down between the swingset and the teeter totter playing rock, paper, scissors and vaping like crazy.

This kind of statement always cracks me up.

Isn't a clampdown on crime your job???

Have not seen this on Asean Now.
Maybe because a Farang was the victim.
Had it been the other way round, it would have been all over the news.
