They also have submarines small ones and high speed torpedoes I’d be curious as to know has their navy been wiped out?anyway looks like convoy duty for sure putting a lot of folks at risk….thats just the (hard) targets we all know how they like to go after (soft) targets….but don’t worry we have that crack professional home security team to rely on…….hopefully it will be over soon and be successful in our favor.

If Iran starts to sink ships their sub will get destroyed.

Iranian airspace belongs to Iran. How can the US just fly in and bomb them?

  • They can't officially, all they can  do is make empty threats such as the one now.   Their entire economy runs through the Strait of Hormuz it would be virtual economic suicide attempting to

Iran’s parliament has voted to close the Strait of Hormuz, the vital shipping channel through which around 20% of the world’s daily oil flows.

The move, which could block $1 billion in oil shipments per day, is likely to send oil prices soaring.

It will come into effect pending a final decision by Iran’s Supreme Council.

If anything good comes out of President Trump's mistake, it will be the end of the American people's support of Israel.

That sucks for China which much of its oil going through the Strait. Not much of a factor for the USA.  China will put pressure on them not close the straight and if they do probably won't last.   What oil future prices doing? Think they are up 2% - yawn...

There are ships called mine sweepers.

Sure, but that would be illegal under international law.

We're all about law and order.

Did you mean like the USA bombing a country that they are not at war with without even consulting the few allies that the USA has left?

That sort of law and order?

Most of China's oil comes from Iran. You think if Iran closes the strait, they won't let their own ships through?

This might upset Beijing. This is because  Beijing wants to be the Big Daddy of Asia.  Japan, S. Korea and the nations East and sE ASia burn a lot of oil as well.

From the perspective of the global economy, there are few places as strategically important. The waterway, located between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, is only 21 miles wide at its narrowest point. It’s the only way to ship crude from the oil-rich Persian Gulf to the rest of the world. Iran controls its northern side.

Irrelevant if they can, or can't, or will, or won't.   Puppeteers of MSM will tell you it will affect oil prices, and get to blame Trump for it.   Win Win.

And the idiot masses will believe it, like all the other BS they get fed.   You expect the masses to think for themselves, that's funny.   When has that ever happened ????

Then the strait isn't closed. Yes?

Who say they have to use mines? At he northern end the strait is only 2 miles wide. Easy to close by other means

not a selective option, mine's close everything, tanking Iran's own economy even further

And China dwarfs any other country in the world that is importing oil that goes though straight hence their concern.  America and India import little oil that will be impacted.  India(3rd highest importer) decided years ago that Iran and the region was too risky to depend on and the USA imports from Canada and Mexico.

One side Iran and the other Oman. In between is a formidable US naval deployment.

Time for China and Russia to provide nuclear umbrella and hand out a few hypersonic missiles. Give them a bit of a proxy war taste.

What if people from your own country were there fighting against Iran? Would it be OK to bomb them?

Are you actively rooting for China and Russia?

I just want to make sure there's no confusion when you get the letter in the mail.

Try to understand this - when you close something yet let by far the country that imports BY A HUGE AMOUNT more than any other country it isn't closed.  USA(#2 importer)  imports basically no oil through the strait.  Comprende? Yawn...

That was funny.  I think he would love to see huge civilian casualties in Israel.  He just doesn't get that he is a evil fool.

They don't own it all nor can they close it all without force on other countries jurisdictions.

NO I stated they import little oil through the strait and they are the number 2 importer of oil in the world.  Thanks for the graph that supports my earlier post. Are seriously this dense?

The people of my country have no business attacking other countries. And any country attacked should fight back, including Iran.

Well we knew there were going to be repercussions and blowback, and I believe the blowback is only starting and it could last decades. Iran is a lot more powerful than Afghanistan or Iraq, and Trump doesn't know who he's fooling with.

Let's call the increase in gasoline prices and inflation the Trump taxes.

The Iranians have no need to sink a major US warship.

All they need to do is to sink a support ship or a support tanker an the battle group will have no aviation fuel, ammunition or food other that what is on board on a daily usage basis.

Putting an aircraft carrier group inside the Arab Gulf will effectively bottle it up, as the Straits of Hormuz is the only way in or out. Common sense 101.

Iranian airspace might belong to Iran but it's now totally controlled by Israel. As for "just fly in and bomb them?" that's easy. Take out a threat of nuclear weapons which would threaten the US, US personnel and interests, and the defence of an ally, Israel. What do you imagine would happen. The US contacts Iran to ask if they can come into their airspace so they can bomb their nuclear enrichment facilities?

Maybe the USA could mind their own business for once and leave other countries be instead of trying to control everything. Always the BS excuse, we have to protect our interests (they should be in your own country).
