His big beautiful bill

Featured Replies

No more food stamps. 10 % of the USA population rely on SNAP.

Mind boggling that the "Greatest" country ever, has so many people without food. And now ya'll want to take that away. Making your Government mass murderers in my opinion. Well that actually is the one thing you're good at. Killing people!

And it's not being unnoticed.

"The “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” that was passed by House Republicans and is currently being discussed by the U.S. Senate is viewed unfavorably by a majority of adults (64%)" (vs 34% favorably)

They're not cutting out Snap. They now require single parents who have children less than 14 (on average) to have to work. ...On food stamps, the bill rolls back decades of long-standing policy by tightening work requirements. Parents of children have generally been exempt from work rules, but under the new proposal, single mothers of teenagers as young as 14 would be required to work or lose benefits. The bill also raises the upper age for able-bodied adults without dependents who are subject to work requirements from 49 to 64, sweeping in millions of older Americans previously shielded from the rules. Additionally, it would make it harder for states to waive work requirements during times of high unemployment, effectively limiting assistance unless a generationally severe recession hits.

Proof it to me !

I currently make 197 million dollars per month and I approve this message.  I told everyone to buy Bitcoin, create AI, buy gold, buy American stocks, buy houses back in 2010.....but oh no, nobody listened.   now they cry over 65k baht a month.

Don't shame me for being the 1 percent.

If this BBB gets people that should be working off their butt, then surely that’s a good thing. Could do with something similar in UK, where there are far too many claiming benefits while sat on their far furry doing nothing.

You made the false claim, why don’t you prove it?

Yes, somebody needs to do the jobs nobody wants to do that the unlawful immigrants were doing.

It's to prevent those who just stay home and do nothing that are young and healthy enough to contribute. As far as the jobs no one wants to do, if the rich Americans were stopped from hiring illegals, more people would be hired that are legal there to work those jobs. There are plenty of part time jobs people can do, seeing it's only 80 hours a month that they're asking. People can get their children to school and work for 4 hours a day and be home before the kids get out of school. This is for those under retirement age who should be working anyway.

Why? If no one wants to do the jobs, let them go undone.

NY Times headline now:

-- Here Are the Republican Senators Who May Revolt on Trump’s Bill
-- Senate Republicans can afford to lose no more than three of their own votes on the bill, but two already are opposed and others remained undecided.

They will be removed from the GOP Party at the next pre-selections for candidates - just like Cheney and others who hate Trump - they are RINOs.  Get on board or get thrown overboard - that is the clear and present massage to all RINOs.

Any of those parents seeking work will now find it more difficult to do so as Trump once again has come out in favor of an amnesty for illegal aliens in agriculture (one of his big donors) and hospitality (in which he himself owns properties). Hospitality, in particular, would be a good job source but Trump is both making citizens compete with foreigners for those jobs and, as a result, chase down wages even further.

-- Trump's 'big, beautiful bill' hits another snag in House as conservative caucus raises red flag
-- Two House Freedom Caucus members are warning a key procedural vote could fail
Published June 30, 2025 2:22pm EDT

Members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus are warning they have serious issues with the Senate's version of President Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill" as it's currently written.

The group of GOP rebels argued in a public statement on Sunday that the Senate bill adds $1.3 trillion to the federal deficit, whereas the House-passed bill would increase the federal deficit by $72 billion.

"Even without interest costs, it is $651 billion over our agreed budget framework," the statement read.

This bill is so underwater by the pollsters that it needs a submarine pressure hull to keep it from imploding…….the only way it will pass is because of threats from trump and his henchmen.everyone knows it’s a tur& ahem you know what I mean.

The US is a representative republic, not a democracy.

It is wort noting, that it’s the Democrats that are typically compelled to vote lock-step. Why do you not care about that?
