I've had this account for a couple of years.  Mostly use from USA.  Any idea what happened or how to fix?  I won't be in Thailand till next month and I need to use this  account.

Just a guess but are you using the website? as this is closing in 1st October, after that you need to use the app or go into the branch

How do you access your account, app or web?  Make sure your Thai phone number is registered in your name.  In any case you are going to need to contact the bank, several ways to do so, I have found the banks very responsive to customer service issues, 100% opposite to UK banks.

I only use the mobile phone app.  Do you think I might be more successful with a desktop computer? I'm going to write to them now - thank you for the link

You could try the web version but as mentioned they are shutting that down soon and might not be easy to access, especially if you never registered for it previously.

Anyway, with luck they will respond to your contact soon.

I have been locked out of my Krungsri Bank account using my app. on my phone.

It asks for my passcode which i have written down and I have used numerous times before ,

only to be told the passcode is wrong , 3 attempts , locked out.

Prior to this my Visa card has not worked , I went to the bank and nobody could explain why the card did not work.

So the lady called the helpline and we sat there for 45 mins and nobody answered.

I have tried from home since and still nothing.

So the card hasn't worked for a while and now I have been locked out of the app.

So it will be another 110 klm round trip to the bank .

Unbelievable.  It took them 8 minutes to reply.  Now I have to figure out what exactly they want me to do.

Due to enhance security measures for mobile banking service that require the user’s name to match the name of the mobile SIM card owner, we would recommend you directly contact your mobile service provider to update the SIM card ownership information to match the name of krungsri app user. Customers who are using a SIM card registered under their own name, or have updated the SIM card owner’s name to match the name registered on krungsri app, can continue using krungsri app as usual and no need to take any action.

However, if you are currently able to access the app and have a registered mobile number under your name, we recommend you to change your mobile number for krungsri app usage by yourself. Please follow the steps below:
1. Log in to the krungsri app and go to the "More" menu > "Settings."
2. Select "Security" > "Change Mobile for OTP."
3. Complete the verification process.
4. Confirm the OTP code you received.

Moreover, in case you cannot be verified by the above procedures or the system displayed messages that username suspended, please visit any Krungsri branches along with valid passport, bank passbook, and receipts/invoices from your mobile network. Our staff will assist in verifying and providing you with the necessary information.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to you. Should you need further assistance or more information, please do not hesitate to contact 24-hour Krungsri Call Center at 1572, overseas call (66) 2296 2000 press 1.

Best regards,

Not Krungsri, but my K-Bank account was locked down when my 250 baht annual debit card fee became due and they declined the card rather than take the 250 baht out of the 200K I had in the account.  I wasn't in a bind for the funds so I just cleared it up in person on my next monthly trip from China to Bangkok.

If you're in need of the funds, I'd suggest calling the number on the back of the card.  Good luck.

Sounds like you may have a problem,  the solution to not being able to log in is to log in and change stuff.  You're in a loop!

Really?  Any rational examples that support that bizarre claim?

Krungsri is changing all existing online consumer accounts using internet browsers, to their Krungsri Biz Online service. We just got emails advising of the change - obviously businesses do not operate using phones - they use computers.  It appears that they are just removing the Consumer online system but keeping the Business online system - but I could be wrong - their advice is at best 'confused'. It also appears that there is no charge for the new service - but I could be wrong. It also appears that this service will continue after 1 October - but I could be wrong. As is always the case here, the staff wont know either - so I will wait a few weeks and then call them to ask.  Plenty of time - 1st October a long way away - there could be a new PM by then - the 4th in a year 🙂

That's exactly the problem.  I believe that's called a catch 22.  This is a beg headache as I cannot make payments for the next 29 days....

I've never had any issues with BKK bank, they're good.

SCB i'm slowly draining my account coz they don't have a website to use any more, only app...

Worth noting that this topic is about Krungsri, and that they are about to get rid of their "website" banking as well - so same as with SCB, you'll have to use their app from October on.

I agree with you that this is a benefit of using Bangkok Bank (and Kasikorn Bank as well). For how much longer though, I'm wondering? They may well make a similar move soon.

My phone number has been the same since 15 years, has been registered with my banks since then amd has been registered in my name with my passport since that became a requirement in 2015. Still, ONE of my banks was too inept to match the information and demanded to see a written confirmation from AIS. The other banks didn't, and of course, the data does match.

I went down to Kasikorn and made sure both the mobile phone company and the bank were using my new passport which I've had for a couple of years already just to make sure I avoided this situation - so far so good.

But the mobile phone company definitely had the old expired passport on file for me, I wondered if that would make any difference, not sure about you but in the UK the passport number completely changes every time you get a new one.

Sounds to me like @pepper402 may have been caught up in the situation referred to in the following thread on the Banking forum:

https://aseannow.com/topic/1359645-does-your-sim-registration-and-bank-details-match/

If he has an AIS SIM card, he will need to visit an AIS Shop to get things sorted (just as I had to do in my case) - which he clearly cannot do at the present time! Presumably similar if he has a DTAC or True SIM card?

Correct. I had to go into True to correct a single character typo in my record.

Same in my case, my passport number changes with every new passport issued.

Here's the thing though: Unrelated to the mobile banking mess, AIS asked me to redo the ID verification in March, in order to keep using their VoWiFi service. So they did register my new passport number, just before the banks' matching exercise which was due in April.

Kasikorn Bank, by the way, was one of the banks which didn't require me to get written confirmation from AIS that my SIM card is in fact mine. So their matching seemed to go alright in my case.

Yep, looks like after being issued with a new passport from now on we'll need to follow up a trip to our bank to update our passport details with a trip to an appropriate SIM card retail outlet to get our SIM card registration updated on the basis of the last 4 digits of our new passport number!
