Best Shop to buy Fridge, Laundry Machine, Microwave etc in UdonThani or Nongkhai.

Featured Replies

gooood morning folks,

i need to buy or upgrade some things in my little house here in Nongkhai. Just doing holidays here from freakn Phuket for about 4-5 month, before going back to hell.

I found some stuff online and learned there is often a price difference of 1000-5000.-Baht for the same fridge or Laundry Machine. Specially Thai Watsadu seems to be the

most expensive shop when it comes to this, while TESCO Lotus is often the cheapest.
.
Ok i could order in Shopee or Lazada but the wife is not happy with it, saying you will get no customer service. Also i learned just yesterday for a laundry machine with a SPECIAL PRICE of 8990.-ONLY

from Hisense there was suddenly a shipping fee of 2200.-Baht applied while the same item was 10,990 a day before, so actually you safe nothing.
.
long talking short, what is your opinion on a good shop for this above mentioned items in Udon Thani or Nongkhai?
I know there is HomePro - GlobalHouse - and Whatsadu but are there other, may be even smaller shops with good prices and something like a customer service IF something happends?
bought a laundrymachine from BEKO in Phuket a year ago and it was broken after 2month, GlobalHouse reacted fast and sent a technician, problem was only the door lock, solved easy.
.
Thanks in advance for answers and  cheers from Rattanawapee

We got all our stuff in one go from Homepro....which looking back was possibly an expensive exercise in being lazy.

If you do go for Lazada make sure it is from Lazmall.

Support from Homepro was good.

Big-C or Lotus, Nongkhai are fine for what you want.

Bought the most things i am having back home in Phuket from Homepro too. Their service is good and the most Electric stuff is not much more expensive as in Lazada or Shopee and you are having the service. I know there is a Homepro in Udon, not in Nongkhai i think.
THANKS for the tips @all  usually i check a couple of shops out, writing prices down and often saving money.  Was wondering today in the morning about one double door fridge TESCO is selling for 8990 and ThaiWatsadu for 12990.- I mean thats worth to check prices before.
THANKS

have a good one

A fortnight ago got pretty much all the items you listed from Lotus (albeit, not NongKhai). Got a cracking deal with big reductions plus they delivered everything next day.

Excellent service and around 40-50% reductions from original sticker price on most items.

Shop around and don’t be hasty. Quality and warranty is paramount of course.

albeit?  my german is much better as my English 😄 where did you shop, There are plenty of TESCOs everywhere, Phonphisai and Phrakat are the closest to me but there is not much in both shops. Phonphisai the BigC is ok,  bought a nice new 32 QLED TV last week, they couldnt make 32 QLEDs before, brand new model, and i am happy with TCL since years.

laundry is kind of a hobby to the wife 😄 😄 so i will  keep her happy, but you are absolutely right.

I shop around and compare prices first. Over the last 10 years, I have bought an AC, fridge and TV from Big C. A second fridge, microwave and TV from Lotus and a freezer from Macro. I've also bought numerous other small household appliances from the aforementioned, plus Thai Watsudu and other shops. I guess I'm lucky to have never had a warranty service claim.

Megahome

We've bought the floor models at Home Pro and they have been great, never were plugged in and never had issues 6+ years so far. Also great service if you have a problem..

My wife, a Thai with knowledge about shops, insists we check around but usually we end up buying at HOME PRO if you have one near you.  After buying service has always been really good with their contractors too.  Have bought and used appliances in both BKK and CM from this store.  But I can't guarantee any based on others' experiences.

I recently loaded up several major purchases from Home Pro.  Been here 14 years and have generally found little difference in price from store to store.  Have had very good service from Home Pro in the past and from companies that sell their products at HP.  No longer worth the gas and frustration trying to save a few baht.  Good service is the differentiator.

If people keep buying their stuff on line to save 50 cents, then don't complain when all the shops start closing down and your daughter or son lose their jobs. There is a cost to local communities when everything becomes centralized in a big warehouse somewhere in the city.

And yet, 'online' keeps my daughter working.   First job was with LAZ :cheesy:

Bought most electricals from HomePro.

Decent service and delivery and they set everything up.

My experience has been HomePro is the most expensive, no returns, no customer service. Similarly, Thai Watsadu. Lotus's is cheap. But I think you can try Lazada, Shopee, even Aliexpress.

Your wife is wrong. A well-known brand comes with its own company warranty. We're still using 33-year old fridge and washer. Cheapskate, and they made 'em better in the 'old days'.

You are right !  In my country, I kept the same fridge 17 years, and I gave it to somebody when I came here, still working well

I have bought here a fridge Panasonic, very sophisticated, lasted 5-6 years

now I  have an Electrolux ( from Sweden ), bought not on line or Big C etc, so far excellent

I am curious, was the fridge actually manufactured in Sweden an imported? Or, was it Made in Thailand under the Electrolux brand.

The reason I am asking is, I was looking real hard for a Made in Japan refrigerator recently, but all of the Japanese and South Korean brands' products that I could find were actually made in Thailand.

Pretty hard to find made in USA appliances these days. Probably because of a paucity of spare parts.

Would not recommend LG one we got from Big C had the surface coming off after a few months, now it's rusty around the opening. We got it on a special offer 2 days only. After talking to the sales guy for a while and measuring it up to see if it would fit we said we will have one- no have was the answer. Seems they had not even arrived and nobody took the sale sign away. They did get us one though, but wish had chosen another brand. Mitsubishi one has been going 14 years

My go to place for white goods is Makro in Udon Thani (the old store, not the new one on the ring road).First, because it is a regular place to shop so easy to browse the electrical stuff while you are there; secondly, because prices are usually good. Also will sometimes browse other places (BigC, Dohome. Homepro) but usually cheaper at Makro. Probably bought 75% of all our kitchen electrical stuff there. Also Fans, TV.
