I've always wondered. Canadians love to ridiculously wear maple flags on their luggage and clothes.

What are they proud of? *

What are it's greatest accomplishments and contributions to the world?

*Not being American doesn't count. That's just stupid think.

I'm serious. It's the most banal nation on the planet.

It's a minor change in status.

I wonder if it's because of all the measles they're seeing?

So far in 2025, Canada has had 3,822 measles cases among a population of 39 million.  The US has had 1,281 cases among a population of 343 million.

Which means that Canada has 26 times as many measles cases per capita as the USA.  And they can't even blame RFK, Jr.  How embarrassing is that?  Of course, you won't hear that from the MSM.  Just Trump and RFK bashing.

I've been to PEI.  Amazing place.  Obviously, only in July and August.  Obviously.

However, one night I was attacked by a lobster and some mussels.   Molasses shooting out of their eyes.  OMG, I ran for my life!!!!!

I do think BC has fentanyl issues.  Calgary is sus.   Toronto has it's moments.

It's all relative.  Canada is probably 100x safer than America.

This will blow your brains out, so hold on to your bargirl.

That's just Americans trying to blend in so hard they look like a walking maple leaf scared of being assaulted or kidnapped.

Nah, proudly Canadian

Not even funny. Have another coffee, try again

Saying proudly Canadian while bashing canada makes you a liar.

In any case Canadians invented a lot more than thais, yet you live in thailand. Are you also a proud Thai person?

What flawed logic.

I'm neither Canadian nor Thai. I wouldn't be especially proud to be either.

It wasn't?  Considering the source, Celsius, it was mildly entertaining and many Americans traveling abroad are safer pretending to be Canadians as the hot headed sniper Celsius hinted.

Not sure this is a big deal?

Reissued after periodic review with minor edits.

Exercise normal precautions in Canada.

Advisory summary: Canada is generally a safe destination for travelers.

Now, a warning to U.S. citizens and Green Card holders: returning from Canada to the U.S. may be problematic.

Here's the reality from the linked article.

According to the State Department’s Level 1 travel advisory for Canada, the country is still considered a “safe destination,” which means travelers should exercise normal precautions. While the reason for the travel warning was not specified, the advisory coincided with a “Wildfire Season” weather alert for U.S. citizens, issued by the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Canada. “In Canada, wildfires are common in forested and grassland regions from May to September. In 2024, Canada was affected by record-breaking wildfires affecting all 13 provinces and territories. We urge U.S. citizens visiting or living in Canada to be aware of wildfire conditions in their area and follow guidance from local authorities,”

When did it become a bad thing, to be proud of your home country.  I'm not flag waving, USA USA USA, citizen, but I can't think of a better country to be from, or wanting to hold any other countries' passport in my hand.

As much as I bash it (USA) myself, I'll take being a US citizen over every other sh!thole country out there.  If forced to live in any country, my choice would definitely be the USA.

Not that familiar with Canada, but pretty sure, it would be my second choice.  Little chilly half the year, but that's OK.

I know where I wouldn't want to be from or born in; UK, EU, AU, NZ, Africa, Asia.   Yet, y'all are proud to be from there, and that's fine .... for you.

Of course it counts. I know for a fact that even before the Trump clown show many Canadians put flags on their luggage to show that they're not Americans.

And after Trump that has of course increased by an order of magnitude.

Besides, Canada is a great country, so they're rightly proud of it. They don't even need to be made great again, unlike their "challenged" neighbor.

Why is Canada great? Because it's not. It's just northern Minnesota.

The ridiculous thing about pasting flags on their foreheads is...

any random passerby would not be able to know with any certainty where they were from.

No one cares
