HOPS on Beach Road.  Your secret beach is OK for lounging and a beer.

That's a pity, I have been there a few times but the best visits were in it's early days. You know it will be be busy when you pass by and see the cars parked everywhere.... picks up the Bangkok traffic at  weekends. There is a  smaller Pa Boons on the other side of Hwy 36, and another on The Railway Line Bypass Rd, both not far from there. All 3 were better in their early days... they want to pack them in of late.

The near Michelin rated "Tin Cup" brasserie restaurant on Soi Buakhow....great food for the in-laws when visiting....aka scrounging 🤣

You are talking about somewhere entirely different....Tin Cup was open yesterday and apart from a brief spell during/after Covid it has been in business for at least 15 years that I know of 👍

Pattaya Beer Garden  Food is good and the seaside helps

Went downhill food wise after Covid in my opinion, but still good location for taking visitors who want to see Walking Street. Easy parking in the big temple at the crossroads and only a short walk to the venue. Some seafood places on WS  itself.

Wrong, just look back on google maps and you will see you are mistaken.

Doubt that was possible.

The no name noodle shop  outside the defunct J J pub/disco

behind Tukcom.

Tried to go there once but they wouldn't let my wife in because she had an "outside" cup of coffee in her hand  so we turned around and went elsewhere.

The Tin Cup restaurant is the name of the Thai hole in the wall eatery on soi Bukhaow more or less opposite Sugar Sugar go go.....open today and for the past 15 years or more.....don,t need Google maps I walk past nearly every day.

And you are not walking past the original Tin Cup.

The original Tin Cup was a Khao Man Gai shop, that closed before Covid.

Two doors further south was a Noodle shop, which remains open.

It's an easy mistake to make, they looked similar, especially if you have only been here 15 years, but as I said, check google maps then you will realise you are mistaken.

Most restaurants are like that considering that they make their money from their food and beverage.

That will teach them eh? Fancy not allowing outside food and drinks into the restaurant!

We're talking a cup of coffee here. It would be bad business imo to turn away customers because of a coffee cup. But then again I would have just tossed the coffee and went in.

Matys goes ok.

Great food, fantastic atmosphere.

Tomahawk is lush.

Or.......just wait until she had finished her coffee.

I wouldn't dream of walking into a (proper) restaurant with food/drink from outside.

How about a beer or a large slurpee, the type some people make last rather a long time, or a bottle of water? Or as the old adage goes, a group of several Indians with a single drink and a few straws!  I have never even been a fan of the idea of walking around with a drink in hand myself.

There is a Paboon cafe in Nongket Yai, close to the railway road, which is a s good as the one on Road 36, and which will have no queue.

But  is  it great to be to bring mother in-law?

Rhuen Thai on second road.  Average Thai menu but semi outdoor open seating which is nice at night.  And the little stage has thai live traditional music and dancing.  Just a small sample of Thailand

I have always liked this place, especially if I have visitors.  Getting a bit tired now.

Non Seafood ( นนท์ซีฟู้ด )

Behind Lan Pho Seafood Market

Cheap as chips, but impressive for visitors.

https://www.google.com/maps/place/นนท์ซีฟู้ด/@12.9743663,100.9038441,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x3102bf99f43beb45:0x1569fa769928afd!8m2!3d12.9743611!4d100.906419!16s%2Fg%2F11mnk38lvr?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDgwNi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

Upstairs for aircon. You also have the option of grabbing something from the market to have them grill/steam for you. But probably cheaper to order from their menu.
