In a sweeping overnight crackdown under the “NO Drugs NO Dealers” campaign, Bangkok Metropolitan Police raided six entertainment venues in the Wang Thonglang district, arresting three American men found in possession of ketamine.

The high-profile operation was led by Pol Maj Gen Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau and executed by Pol Col Jessada Yangnok, Superintendent of Wang Thonglang Police Station, along with his team. The initiative forms part of the government’s aggressive new policy aimed at tackling drug use and trafficking in nightlife establishments.

At approximately 00:45 on 24 July, officers raided The Pimp nightclub, where they discovered one packet of ketamine weighing 1.18 grams. A joint follow-up investigation with Thonglor Police led to the seizure of additional narcotics including three more packets of ketamine totalling 4.85 grams, a 16-gram packet of so-called “happy water”, and a bag of psilocybin mushrooms, commonly known as “magic mushrooms”.

A total of 92 patrons and staff at The Pimp underwent on-the-spot urine drug testing, resulting in four positive cases, three customers and one female staff, all of whom voluntarily agreed to undergo rehabilitation. At another venue, tests were conducted on 19 individuals, with two employees testing positive and also opting for treatment.

Further investigations led to the arrest of three young American men in possession of ketamine. All three are now in custody and face criminal charges related to drug possession.

In addition to the drug arrests, four establishments were charged for violating licensing laws, including the sale of alcohol beyond legally permitted hours.

The detained suspects and case evidence have been handed over to investigators at Wang Thonglang Police Station for prosecution in accordance with Thai law.

Authorities have pledged continued inspections of nightlife venues across the capital as part of ongoing efforts to clean up the city’s entertainment scene and stem the tide of narcotics.

Hopefully they get long prison sentences, they got a huge wakeup call coming, Thai prison aren't like the plush accomodations provided by the US prison system.

Looks like their next is our luxurious Bangkok Hilton bye bye morons.

Do some time in a Thai cell then deport them with a life time ban.

Gotta give them credit for truth in advertising.

Anyone who does illegal drugs in a foreign country deserves what they get.

A lot of focus on the 3 Americans. Not so much on the 3 staff who agreed to rehabilitation and the other customers who tested positive, presumably Thai?

The Pimp is a club where ideally, one should speak Thai. It is not a falang club, its Asian style. Bet ya dollars to donuts the arrestees were Lao/Hmong/Mien/Thai Americans. I have been to the Pimp so that would be my judgement.

ProTip: If you are one of the thousands of young Asian Americans who want to travel to the homeland, keep in mind that American accented Thai will get you both laid in Thong Lor and targeted by the cops. Cover those tattoos and never speak Thai to the police.

Sounds like you hav personal experience with both prison systems to elicit such a stated opinion…

Only the finest of the social elite would visit a place entitled 'The Pimp.'

Must have been 3 brainless MAGA idiots . At least they will get some real Thai Happy Water now for free. And with their own feces, they will be able to grow their own magic mushrooms.

As long as they not whinny like horses, jump like horses, they are not in need of ketamine.🤣😂

Much more likely Harris/Biden supporters.

Drugs are cool with them.  Just ask Hunter.

Yeah, the Pimp is an Asian style nightclub with choreographed sexy dancing and shows where you pay the girls to sit with you and buy them super expensive drinks with no guarantee of getting them out for a short time like in the other red-light centers.

The original owner is from the US, as far as I remember, which I thought a bit strange given the style of the club... not sure if ownership or style has changed since early days

I knew an American 'acquaintance' whom I suspected could have been dealing drugs, but he was 'caucasian'. He used to talk about 'slinging dope' in Philadelphia, and was a heroin addict. He worked as an English teacher.

He once asked a mutual friend if he would receive some personal items being sent over from America, which the mutual friend declined.

Maybe obviously, but I long suspected that people caught in the drugs trade in Thailand were also involved in it wherever they came from.

Those particular substances are not anywhere near the threat posed by meth, fentanyl, cocaine, etc. they are not the ones that addict and kill people. Ketamine is a  medically approved drug with various applications. Mushrooms/psilocybin have been approved in some US states for the treatment of depression. So, they will face the justice commensurate with the crime. Good thing you're not educated enough to be a prosecutor or a judge.  How do I know all this? Because I'm older, more experienced, and better educated than you. I personally suffer from depression and will be soon checking into a ketamine treatment clinic in my area, if that doesn't work, I'll be going to see that caterpillar.

Ketamine bladder appears to be a serious health problem associated with the use of "Special-K"?

Like I've always said... Leave the dealing to the locals.

Possession, not dealing. Big difference.

Always wanted to go to this place. 20,000 baht a table or something from memory. "exclusive" bla bla bla

Ketamine was always meant to be used under medical supervision though? (Horses) Using it in a recreational way is very different, dosage control etc. But then again opium/heroin & cocaine are the same.

No Thais arrested then? Oh, sorry - nothing in their wallets!

If they can't survive without taking drugs then they should stay in their own country where they know the laws, consequences etc.

Is this a prelude to making people piss for cannabis again?
