This is your typical foreigner on our roads in Pattaya.    Reckless, selfish, antagonizing and arrogant.  What a goose.    It was fun to watch him go down 😂

Thank goodness the Thais are so better disciplined.

... after paying a very substantial fine, perhaps 100,000Bht, and banned from entry into Thailand for 10 years.

Some of the nicest people I have met outside of Thailand have been British so what is with all the news about bad British in Thailand?

... further, my vote for my least liked is the Americans who demand service, especially on arrival at airports. Seen it in Bkk, Shanghai, Bejing, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore and in Jakarta.

Good! When an emergency vehicle is behind you, then get out of the frikin way!

I summary. Lets face it the motorbike rider is a D-Head. If you disagree your the same.

Definitely bad... When I was living there the ambulance drivers would turn on their lights to go to the 7-11. I would always pull over but annoying when you see them going for lunch or a snack,

Should be treat the same as locals, no difference.

i am of the opinion that guests in a country should be held to a slightly higher standard - call it a privilege tax, of sorts, for being allowed to reside in a foreign country.

Besides, your suggestion is pure fantasy - never will Thais and foreigners be seen in the same light, lets be frank, so this ‘treat everyone the same’ is a bs premise to begin with.

No need to cite far afield.... THe Dolphin never quite worked and the one at Jomtien 2nd Rd and Chaiyaphruek had to be taken out.

Dolphin roundabout worked fine until they started redirecting Naklua inbound traffic back up Nua and denying them access to Beach. That's when it stopped being a roundabout.

Can you tell us where they went to eat, or what they ordered?

Came about after a couple of young girls on a motorcycle got crushed by a cement mixer IIRC. They were  on the outside wanting to go on past the Nua exit, inside the cement mixer that didn't. When you say the Dolphin 'worked', well not quite the way say UK roundabouts did.

What with Thailand to attract only the unwanted scumbags from all over the world ? Each nation it's great people and their quota of scumbags like anyplace on earth. But why ? Why only do we mostly get the scumbags from these nations, come  here in Thailand ?

Motorcyclists are even more anti-social and dangerous than cyclists. Ban the whole lot of them. Safer for everyone.

Return the rights of way to the people. These vehicles are out of control. Walking is healthier.

claimed he was startled by the sound of the ambulance

Whenever he's startled does he always flip people off? Lame excuse, sounds like a Thai....5555

Guess up North we seem to be spared quite a large amount of idiots up here, I cannot understand why the locals put up with it.

He's been watching  too many Thai's,

This is normal behaviour from many of the foreigners in Pattaya.

As I said earlier, reckless, selfish, antagonizing and arrogant.

Does anyone have any idea as to how much he was fined?

Is this for you own person risk - cost analysis?

This reply is ridiculous. What does it even refer to?

Yeah you can punch that ideology right up your freckle, I pay more than enough monetary  taxes here.

Then they picked the right country, they'll fit right in with the locals.

The locals here are not the best  representation of the whole country!

Agree, Pattaya attracts the worst of the worst.

Foreigners and Thai's.

He should have been named and shamed, we are guests in this country , behave like one.

The problem would be drivers, not roundabouts.

For many folks this is surprising. I grew up in Australia, across several states.

The first time there was an amblance using it's siren my dad took action, very quickly checking where other vehicles were are very quickly getting to the side and creating the biggest gap he could by pulling to the side and stoppin, as close to walls or other vehicles as he could for the ambulance to pass. Same for fire vehicles.

This was standard procedure for all drivers.

I recall in the 1 hr road traffic / road safety lectures we had at high school over 2 or 3 years (conducted by a special police unit, officers in uniform, always with Q and A) this featured several times with strong emphasis on very quickly creating a space for emergency vehicles to pass by getting as close as possble to walls, other vehicles etc.

Roundabouts should be removed in Thailand, I have yet to see a single Thai use them properly, all they do is increase the danger level here. They are a great idea, but only if you have well-trained drivers and a police force that keeps bad drivers in check with enforcement, both or which are lacking/absent in Thailand.
