  • This should be interesting, as he's one of the most anti-foreigner politicians out there 😎

  • Now maybe the Cannabis legislation will go back to being sane instead of axing a few thousand new cannabis based businesses!

  • I don't think this will be as toxic for farangs as it appears. His fanaticism during Covid was rethought and he decided he had misspoke. He had the right idea on the cannabis issue and I think he dese

Elected but not confirmed. Anutin might still be convicted of money laundering. The DSI is after his corrupt party.

Isn't this the guy who, during Covid, said all foreigners were dirty and Thais should be careful. I guess he thought taking Cannabis would give protection from us.

That one incident, years ago, for which he apologised profusely, doesn't make him the greatest foreigner hater.

Yes.

The Thai people have voted

See what happens in 4 months could be interesting times coming up 🤔

"The greatest foreigner hater Thai politics ever had".

Using all the same logic that most posters are displaying, it seems that most Asean Now posters are the greatest Thai haters!

Yep I remember that..+ Thais pulling up their masks extra tight and giving foreigners an extra wide berth   during the height of the Covidiocy.

Funny how things go full circle in that its now acknowledged that a  likely scenario was the "virus" did originate/escape/export from  The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill  perhaps in collaboration with the Wuhan institute of virology and a few others  to cover the whole world...but still no reason to describe foreigners  as any more dirty or any more likely to spread "disease" than a Thai would be... nose picking is still a Thai national sport...but does seem to have become less popular ?

Anyway I hope/suppose that Ganja will become "legal" again  so maybe not everything is bad.

No it's not, I've posted several others, where he urged Phuket to target farang.

Where he claimed foreigners "never shower".

This guy makes Nigel Farage and Donald Trump look like cosmopolitan enlightened politicians. Anutin is a nasty piece of work.

Couple of my friends are praying for that to happen.

There are some studies suggesting that smokers are less susceptible to the "Covid virus "  ™ ® ©

TBH, I didn't disagree with him, and thought opening TH back up to tourist so soon was a horrible

TBH  I disagree with you and him ...shutting down Thailand's tourism industry caused much more severe damage than just doing nothing...which is what the whole world should have  done...nothing..  except tell those who might be afraid to take some extra "precautions" to protect themself..shutting down the whole world caused much more damage than the  "Covid virus "  ™ ® © ever did.

I guess you have not been following the news. He will be pm for around 4 months until new elections are held. Most of the work in Parliament will be organizing for that as well as working on the new constitution.

There will be things like constitution possibly thaksin the Senate and 20 baht fee that have to be resolved

Loss of business's income or people dying that got infected ... pretty sure THB losses would have been a better choice.  They had the infections well under control, until they let tourist back in.

Especially since the early tourist revenues, only benefited a few.  Profits so much better than the 34k+ that died after the tourist were allowed back in.

TH covid deaths ... 34,982

Remember being told, "If vaccinated, you can't get or spread covid" :cheesy:

God/Buddha help the expat farangs!

Let’s see if he honors the agreement he made with the people’s party for an election in four months. My gut feeling is he won’t.

Why may I ask?

He could be out in 4 months time if he sticks to the written agreement with PP to dissolve parliament for its support for him as PM.  PP are NOT in his coalition and could be serious contenders at the soon to be General Election in possibly January 2026?

Nah, he (or one of his assistants, as he claims) posted something ignorant during covid and later apologized. But as a farang myself, I can understand the stereotype of a dirty farang in a Chang tangtop and elephant pants hanging out on Khao San or in Koh Phangan or Phuket and reeking of BO. Sadly, this loud minority does create stereotypes.

At first I was pretty disgusted by the PP's role in Anustin's election, but I wonder if they didn't want to accelerate the process to preempt "action" by the army. Hence opening the way to an election instead of having to wait another 10 years.

But chances to win a forthcoming election will be slim, here in Buriram Bumjaithai paid 1000 Baht a vote at the recent district election. People loved it.

Isn't he basically a caretaker PM until General elections are held?

It was never made illegal. They just started enforcing the original laws in certain areas. But for many parts of Thailand, nothing has changed besides no vapes anymore

How long before someone files a lawsuit in the courts saying that he should be disqualified for having recklessly promoted the legalisation of marijuana?

IFR  Infection Fatality Rate of "Covid"   ™ ® ©  was known within the first few weeks and low  for most of the population..the elderly and already chronically  ill  needed protection,

the rest of society/world  should have just been allowed to get on with it..shutting down the whole world was a big "mistake" causing huge damage, pretty sure doing "nothing"  would have been a better choice.
