The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya Rescue Radio Centre received reports at 02:40 on the 5 September, of a motorcycle collision on Pattaya Third Road, just before the Laem Bali Hai overpass. Several casualties were reported. Emergency responders and medical teams from Pattaya City Hospital were dispatched immediately.

At the scene, a white-and-black Honda CBR 300 (registration from Chonburi) lay overturned and damaged. The rider, 19-year-old Jack Brian Seaman, a British-Thai dual national, sustained abrasions across his body. His 20-year-old Thai girlfriend, who was riding as a passenger, was more seriously injured. Both were promptly given first aid before being rushed to Pattaya City Hospital.

Nearby, a white Honda 125 (registration from Chonburi) was found with front-end damage. The rider, 18-year-old Worarit Khunwiset, a boat driver, suffered minor injuries.

Jack Brian Seaman stated that he was riding home with his girlfriend along Third Road when the other motorcycle suddenly emerged from a side alley, leaving him unable to brake in time and resulting in a heavy collision.

Conversely, Worarit said he had been waiting to turn at the entrance of the alley with his indicator on and had checked both directions before proceeding. He claimed the Honda CBR approached at high speed, causing the crash.

The duty investigator from Pattaya City Police Station visited the scene to collect evidence and photographs. CCTV footage from nearby areas will also be reviewed to determine the exact cause of the collision. Legal proceedings are expected to follow.

I'd be surprised if he has had the chance to ride one of these back in the UK......legally at least.......unless he is a millionaire and can afford the insurance.

Why do you need to be a millionaire for owning a Honda CBR300 or similar with an insurance?

The CBR 300 rider might have been too fast.

But traffic at 2:40 in the night should be easy enough to notice a racer coming on.

There is a staggered 4 way junction   that I suspect is the scene of this accident  no traffic lights and who cares about the road markings  they often shoot across the main road from either side roads...during the day its often a big jamup with no one wanting to give way.

Only a moron, of any nationality would ride a motor bike in Thailand

I wouldn't go that far, but they'd be home in their own beds had they been in a car with seat belts.

Imagine losing your son or daughter at age 20 because you bought them a scooter instead of ponying up for a 2nd hand car.

BS pure

Millions of morons all I over SEA have no other choice.

Public transport a joke.

Can't afford a car.

And heaven help they can't.

Look at a Central motorbike parking on the weekend and imagine they would also take a car to the road.

Like this (zoom in)

Motorbike is so much better to get through the traffic jams

only big downside is the stupidly long wait stuck at traffic lights in some places...not so good during the blazing heat of midday/afternoons.

We need CCTV , my money is on Jack

And yet Tourists come every year and rent motorcycles easily available at any rental agency or even their hotel lobby, with no license only photocopy of passport and the give them a plastic bucket for a helmet and with zero motorcycle sense they hit the streets thinking the worst that could happen is a police checkpoint and fine. I am fully licensed from my home country and here in Thailand, I ride a ADV 350 and have over 15000 Km since coming here 2 years ago. Here is my video on this topic.

Yes i agree if you are a moron then you definitely should not ride a motorcycle in Thailand!

If he saw or heard the motorcycle approaching at high speed then why did he proceed?  This is a guilt admission.  Same BS happened to me years ago, guy who hit me told the cops I was going too fast.  The cop said to him, "so you saw him going too fast so you pulled out anyway?  We'll be reporting you for attempted murder in that case".  He didn't get charged with that of course, but boy did he shut up.  Later he started squeaking when an eye witness (an off-duty police motorcyclist) told the cop that I had not been speeding.

I spoke to a massage girl who said she bought a 2nd hand car.

She must realize that motorbikes are too dangerous.

If a massage girl can afford one, most other people should be able to.

Pay monthly if necessary.

Some people are trying to look cool riding a bike.

Way too many accidents and no protection.

I rode a Yamaha 125 around Bangkok and outside for a few years. Didn't die once. Bikes are fine if careful and the rider is experienced. Tourists who never ride in their home country are asking for it.

We in the UK  are Taught " Hazard Perception " this is anything that that could produce a hazard such as someone likely pulling out of a junction infront of you, causing you to avoid a potential accident. So when your riding down a road look ahead where people are coming to a junction that will come into your path slow down or if safe move over thus avoiding a potential hazard.

Just the usual--motorcycle pulling out from a side street onto a main road without even looking--see it all the time and every day.

Why is it that you refer to me as a moron, despite not being acquainted with me?🛵😂

To cycle or not to cycle is a choice even if that’s all you can afford - it’s still a choice.  Glad no one was seriously hurt.

So how come you don't ride one?
