Is that true, klaus?

If so, it is mind-boggling how much influence this corrupt clan has.

It all disappears if he doesn't keep the bargain.

It has been his/their willingnesss, as more or less the equal largest party in Thailand (the other being Peoples Party) to betray and act against Peoples Party, on behalf of those who feel most threatened by PP, that keeps him safe.

He would never have returned in the first place had it not been for his agreement to work on behalf of that minority interest........which has ony minority support.

For sure. The fix is in... you can bet on it.

  • Or maybe he flew out to get health records of a serious ailment which had been only partially addressed in Dubai and Singapore before he returned to Thailand.

Fmr PM

decries the prison sentence against her father and ex-PM @ThaksinLive

saying that he’s the first Thai PM to actually go to prison despite the “good he has done for the country”. She’s also concerned about his health now given the new circumstances.

Either she knew his illness was fake or he lied to her as well.

How many turned out?

Time was when he could command tens of thousands with the snap of his fingers.

They know they don't need to.

She new      it seems they are going after him in a big way just in National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to prosecute Thaksin Shinawatra for his illegal transfer from prison to hospital in 2023

they are already working on complaint with the NACC against some corrections and medical personnel who allegedly helped Thaksin avoid imprisonment.
Remember todays verdict was just for his sentence, not on Thaksin arranged his transfer from prison to hospital to avoid imprisonment.

It shouldn't be Taksin going to court for this.  It should be those that allowed it.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled that Thaksin wrongfully claimed chest pain and later other serious illnesss to have himself transferred from Bangkok Remand Prison to Police General Hospital

the guy is a con man

I have seen this same story play out many times through out the years.  HiSo person hides out or leaves the country to avoid justice.  After awhile they reappear while the legal problems magically disappear.  You can pretty much guess what is happening in the interim.

A saw it when Chalerm Yoobamrung's son shot a police officer in cold blood with witnesses.

Saw it again when that Red Bull heir did a hit and run on a police officer.

I am sure there are plenty of other examples.

You Seriously think he’s going down. Wow😱 Not a hope in hell.

It's already been stated in the media he can request a release and retrial, and he can request home detention.

My guess is that he will try one of both of these angles.

Just curious, I wonder how 'locked down he would be (as well as cannot leave the house) if he was granted home detention.

Can he communicate with others? i.e. can he have a phone, can he have internet access? Ultimately could be be in regular discussions with his party?

An old friend (well retired Thai lawyer) mentioned that there would be quite a team of rotating police officers at his house, and food would be brought in for every meal (cannot have his own chef in the house) and the food would come from a rotating schedule of restaurants. With no choices. demand to be returned to hospital.

On the other hand will he claim sickness / serious sickness and demand to be sent to hospital for long periods. (Seems that he wasn't sick when he stayed at the police general hospital, but has he learned how to trick the doctors into believing he's really ill?

A few days in the slammer will make it look good.

When he is released on some sort of custodial scheme it will be plain to all...justice was done.

That's a scenario that will likely be played out in the coming days.

Wait and see if any real change has taken place here.

There is No appeal no release  up to the court for home detention  As of today, there are no reports of an appeal being filed or a process for appealing the sentence being initiated. His team has indicated he accepts the ruling and is prepared to proceed with the judicial process

The King can intervene at any time. I expect a full pardon.
