I thought this might be an interesting topic for a Sunday.  What religion (if any) do you practice and did you a convert from another religious choice?  If there is no choice that fits in the poll, let us know in the comment section.

Have fun!

Yes, exactly, very much so. A fatal poll design error.

Also, there should be a choice for Agnostic.

Staunch anti-theist.

If evil had a masterpiece, it would be religion. Not war, not greed, not tyranny—but the sanctified lie that binds minds, divides humanity, and sells obedience as virtue. No invention has done more to fracture truth, suppress inquiry, and justify cruelty than religion. It is not divine—it is diabolical. And until we free ourselves from its chains, we will never know what it means to think, to choose, or to truly be free.

I am blown away by the fact that intelligent people can believe in some form of higher-being......weird.

If you observe what happens in this world there is a much stronger argument for the existence of the devil than for any God.

Not religious in the slightest. Call it like it is and how it’s observed, not necessarily how it’s expected.

What about Pagan. The original religion of Western Europe before Capitalists took over, and spread Christianity in ordet to get the peasants to fight for God (Capitalist Profit)

I am a follower of my football team.  -  does that count?

There is a very good reason why , without exception, all religions are forced into peoples minds at a very young and impressionable age , most people can never fully recover from this brainwashing. even intelligent ones

It's actually compulsory, even in church of england schools, that kids receive a minimum amount of "religious education"  per week   which is probably increased to "per hour " in catholic schools, I doubt that Islamic schools teach anything other than religion

The various religions have had thousands of years to perfect their fear based,  brainwashing techniques and their "success" in this speaks for itself, with literally thousands of people prepared to kill, not only innocent victims en masse , and consequently spend the rest of their miserable lives in prison, but also to kill themselves

More than sufficient reason, in my opinion, for all forms of religion to be banned, at least from public discussion and practice , and preferably outright. It is responsible for more death ,pain, hate  and suffering than any illegal drug  or any contagious disease, yet is still allowed to exist,  Why is that?  answers on a postcard please

PS. Correct me if I am wrong , but to the best of my knowledge there is not one religion that considers women as equal to men , and there is not one religion that considers "other religions" as acceptable either

I wonder if there is a bloke up there in the sky ?

Must be something I guess .

How did we get here ?

Catholic start. Christian now. Changing a little thinking within the same area

I must've been lucky because in my junior school I don't remember having any religious instruction (or Religious Knowledge as it was sometimes called), or perhaps we did and I didn't take any notice of it!
When I started at my grammar school, there was a RI (religious instruction) lesson scheduled and neither I nor a few others took any notice of it whatsoever and didn't bother to take the final tests, completing the test forms with nonsense like using the names of pop groups/pop singers in place of any religious characters.
Needless to say I got zero for that paper, but the school didn't really seem to mind too much, and neither did most of the class either!!
We were expected to go to Sunday school on Sunday mornings, but I never went because all of this religion stuff just seemed like a bunch of made up nonsense to me.
And my view hasn't changed one iota.

Even after having left religion behind 50 years ago I still find thoughts and ideas that I have unconsciously retained from indoctrination as a child.

The two biggest scams in all of humanity are religion, and the smoking of tabacco/cigarettes.

Many deaths come from having two religions trying to prove their is right, instead of letting others choose their path. Also from using religion as a crutch to kill, which no religions are meant to do. People, no matter what they've been taught, grow into adults that can look at what they've learned and see if it feels right still.

If a person chooses not to believe in God, they shouldn't argue with those that do, as they aren't going to change minds, especially as adults. and arguing over this doesn't help either side. We will all see the truth when we pass.

As Christians we are supposed to spread the word, but it's still not to be forced on others as that can have them turn away, much the same as a child rebels against their parents. There is only one God, because if there were more, we would obviously see them fighting for our votes. faith is how we believe, and again, it's a personal choice and no one else's business.

If one looks at all of what encompasses this world, from the human body and brain alone, to all the species of animals, the planets and how they earth is positioned, and the rest of nature, it's easy to see this all didn't come from a big bang that wasn't a creation. Everything here coming from nothing is impossible, and if there wasn't a nothing, how did that happen? This will forever be an argument because some can't believe a God would allow such misery to happen, but this short life is nothing compared to forever, so that's why we believe.

Well our physicists, cosmologists & mathematicians are all in uproar at the moment as 3I/Atlas hovers nearby and does things (apparently) that our current sciences of all descriptions believe impossible.

In the circumstances I think it behoves any rational human being to maintain an open mind on what the cosmos (or multiple cosmoi) has/have to offer that we haven't begun to imagine.

Maybe some prayers do, as we do see miracles and unexplained things happen.

But what if God is real and we took away all the other false religions and deities, thinking and fighting over it? Wouldn't there be more peace in the world? Yes, the devil surely exists, and it's in some people. It is hard to understand why a God would allow so many bad things to happen, but what if he is real and this is just a test?

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. Just because we can't explain in doesn't mean it's a miracle.

I ticked Atheist as Agnostic isn't an available choice.

Oddly, I actually studied Divinity at grammar school but that was a choice determined by the weather. O-Level Div was a double period on a Wednesday afternoon which clashed with double-sport. We took great pleasure in looking out of the window to see everyone else doing cross-country in the healthy sleet :whistling:

I even passed the exam!

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

For me, Its the Order of Nine Angles.

That's called Atheism.  People pretty much equate Atheism (A - without; theism religion or a god) A-theism - without a religion or a belief in a god.

@mikebike @Jingthing
There is now a "None" category by popular demand.

Technically I am an ordained minister of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
