Most, if not all banking apps are the same.   This is done as a security measure.   Eric.

You can often do more things on a phone app than you can on the website.  Phones are more locked down than computer OSs, so I would trust my phone more than a computer.

For me, the solution is to keep my pocket camera ready and take a photo when the transfer is complete. SCB offers the option to save the transaction, but I can never find it again.

As older people, we all face the same nonsensical problem.

For SCB app, Settings, Auto save slip, radio button. Saved slips are in Internal storage, Pictures, SCB Easy folder.

For BBL app, Home Settings (gear icon) Application, General settings, Auto save slip, radio button. Saved slips are in internal storage, Pictures, Bualuang mBanking

(Your file locations may vary, I'm on Android 16, November 2025 update)

You can "share" a slip with yourself via email, just one of the sharing options.

A screen capture yields a black screen.

It worked a few days ago.  There should be a secondary auth asking for my phone code in order to initiate screen cap to avoid the type of scenario you described.  I use 2FA authentication apps and that's what they do before I can access the 2FA code.  If it's secure enough for them it should be good enough for a banking app.

Any security 'solution' that prevents me from doing useful legit things is NOT a proper solution.

Why would you need a screenshot?

Maybe a difference between Android app and iOs app in the past?

Would require that posters note.

Possibly.

The iOS BBL app still sends a "screenshot" of the transaction to my photos app on the phone.

Just checked the BBL app and its called an e-slip which I have set to auto send to my photos app.

Screenshot in quotation marks.

Yes that's not a screenshot but a feature of the app.

Same to me.

Bangkok Bank has now banned taking screen captures in the app.

I never use banking Apps on the phone if possible.

I use the computer and just tried the BBank and can take Screenshots.  👍

Why do you need the screenshots? Not arguing against it, but for me each transaction is saved in my photos so I never had a need to do it.

Primarily i think, due to a lack of trust in the banks, especially when it comes to bank transfers.

No so much re: Thai banks, but I was doing money transfers from Canadian banks, and I had issues where the money transfer did not take place, and my account was debited for over a week, before money refunded.

I called the bank (Bank of Montreal (BMO)) help line , and they claimed I had screwed up in the transaction.  However I did not screw up. I had images I took of every step of the transaction transfer process (about 1/2 dozen step), and I asked them (the help line) for a website address where i could upload the images to prove THEY, THE BMO bank, SCREWED UP.

Screen shots not possible, so I took images with another phone.

They declined to accept my images, but I was asked to wait another day while they looked into the issue again.

The next day, the money I attempted to transfer was finally refunded to my account.  They never did apologize nor did they explain how THEY screwed up.

End result?  i am going to close my account with BMO. Can't be trusted given such behaviour.

The feature is called "Auto save slip" (General settings) and can be configured or switched off.

You complain about functionality but don't want to tell why you need it?

There might be a work around or it could be a RTFM problem.

I did not actually complain, I just mentioned it had just happened and I don't need to tell total strangers why I do some things.

Its ok I don't need a work around as someone has already mentioned it in the posts.

Have you tried using CTRL P, then instead of sending the document to a printer, click on the drop down menu and choose, save as PDF, then save to a file?

Has nothing to do with Mac vs Android.  Not that I expect overpaying Apple users to understand such details.

This has anyways driven my crazy with hsbc, no screenshots allowed. Krungsri don't allow but send copies of transfers to your photo gallery, reasonable compromise.

I use the Etrade app now and then.  It also does not allow my phone to take screen shots.  Seems odd that an app can prevent a phone intrinsic function from working.

It's a simply flag command in any app that tells Android the app is secure and cannot be screen grabbed.

Unlike bank apps, my Etrade app (Power E*Trade for Android) unlike your experience does not have this flag and allows me to screen grab anything.

I have a friend now 70 reached masters degree level education, but refuses to use apps or web sites for banking. He takes his ATM card and bank book for updating the statement to a machine when needed. They walk amongst us.

So do I (no ATM card needed with Kasikorn), how else can it be updated?

Bangkok bank does the same.

a modern phone with FaceID is probably safer than your desktop/laptop.

SCB did that a year or so ago. It was annoying. But now, even though I can't freeze frame it, the transaction page automatically ends up in my iPhone's photos. So all good - not sure how that happened - but good solution. Then I can forward it to whomever from the photo library.

Stopped working for be on BBL with iOS also last week, I didn't use it often but some times I wanted a screen shot of my balance on the account, or take a screenshot of an error message when I try to send money to some one else. Like yesterday My Wife want to hospital with a friend and when I tried to transfer to her I got messages her account was not available, After restarting the BBL app is said have hit the daily limit of transactions to that account...

But I believe the error was caused by this banking problems all banks seams to have around midnight. Can not pay with CC, Can not scan pay, etc for a while then suddenly it works again.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned; but with the Bangkok Bank app, if you tap the settings icon, top right, then general settings, you can enable Auto save slip, and it will save the transaction slip to the photos on your phone …. at least it does with my iPhone. This obviously doesn't help if you want to take a screenshot of something other than a transfer.
