A Danish tourist caused a disturbance at the Trat Bus Terminal on December 2 after missing the last bus to Suvarnabhumi International Airport. The man, whose name was not disclosed, was upset after arriving too late for the 6pm bus, the final service of the day. His midnight flight departure prompted a loud outburst, alarming terminal staff and bystanders.

Initially, staff attempted to explain the situation and offered alternative transport options, but the tourist refused to calm down. It was observed that he seemed to be under the influence of alcohol. Police were called to the scene at around 6pm to address the situation.

Checking his documents, officers confirmed that the man was legally in Thailand. To facilitate better communication, they involved the Tourist Police to assist with interpreting. Ultimately, the interpreter managed to soothe the tourist, communicating with his airline to change his flight to midnight on December 4.

The police escorted him to the Trat Tourist Police office for the night, ensuring he would secure a spot on the first 4am bus on December 3. The incident highlights potential challenges for tourists managing transport schedules.

In related news, an Indian travel blogger recently shared her negative experiences in Thailand. She alleged a "hospital scam" in Krabi after consuming cannabis edibles, leading to a missed flight and a 36,000 baht medical bill. Her claims sparked debate online, with some netizens attributing the situation to her own choices, reported The Thaiger.

A drunk Dane?

Colour me shocked.

At least he wasn't a violent lout like the drunk Aussies or Canadians.

Kudos to the Thai translator for defusing the situation. 💯%

Sure. Trat to Suv is about 310 km.

Roughly 3000 Baht for taxi.

Idiot anyway.

Bus needs 4 to 5 hours for the trip.

I thought the same thing about his tight schedule.  Even if he caught the 6:00 pm bus he most likely would have arrived too late for his flight.

Just had to have those last Happy Hour beers didn’t he??  he seemed to be under the influence of alcohol.

I never drank before a flight, plenty of time during the flight for that.

Hope this teaches him a valuable lesson - if he didn’t have travel insurance for his ticket, he is on the hook for the price of another flight.       Peace

But she was so cute and she kept telling him he handsum have time.  Glad they locked him up for the night

<deleted>wit, been on the sauce knowing he had a bus to catch and then had a man child tantrum for his own stupidity because he missed it. Luckily plod helped him out. Id’ve let him spend the night in the cells to cool off and go through the hassle of trying to get on another flight.

But he got what he wanted, special treatment and authorities paving the way so he didn't have to go through what everybody else would have.

A great business idea: provide special courses to travelers, issue a "Diploma of Travel and Transport Schedule Management" and make sure it is a compulsory demand for tourists around the world.

Even if there had been a bus waiting for him just at the time he chose to show up at Trat Bus Terminal, leaving Trat at 6pm for a midnight departure from BKK would have been very poor planning. How long does the muppet think the ride will take?

Even the 6pm bus wouldn’t guarantee this bell-end to arrive on time for a midnight flight.

And that's even dumber. How entitled can you be, overdoing recreational drugs and complaining that it might cause medical issues that require (paying for) treatment?

Spoilt children with temper tantrums should stay home with their mummy.

Cry mommy cry...I hope you read this....grow up...XXX...
