Actually, it did.

No surprise you don't believe it as you believe a Muslim or brown person couldn't possibly be there on merit - it must only be because he's voted in by other Muslims and brown people.

Thankfully most Londoners have open minds, unlike you. They vote based on performance, not racial lines.

Considering Trump's poor reputation in the UK, it can only comfort Khan's position!

So, you want to play the race card ?

Many White people would have voted for a Brown person .

How many Brown people voted for a  White person ?

(BTW, I never normally refer to people by their skin colour , I am just following your lead on this occasion)

Strawman.

There are some very talented Muslim and "brown people" as you like to call them.

Sadiq Khan is not one of them. He is a liar and a hypocrite. And like you, he loves to play the race card 😄.

I wonder what idiot told President Piggy, that the Mayor of London has anything to do, with setting national immigration-policies ?

Mind you, there's a certain US-citizen that many Brits (not all) would hope is not allowed to visit our green & pleasant land, ever again.  Who might that be ?   Hint  ...  he cheats openly at golf !

I just do not understand the good folks of the UK voting in this trash.

The "good folks" in London did NOT vote for Khan. We want him gone but he's created and nurtured a dependent voter base enjoying the benefits of having him as mayor. For the rest of us, London has become a hell hole. A still great city in many ways, but unliveable for many (roads, restrictions, toll charges, crime etc.).

Is there something i am missing ... why is the president of the most powerful country in the world obsessed with a Mayor in London, who doesn't really hold much power. He has no control over immigration, no control over any laws, no control over national budgets - his main task is organising public transport, some planning which can be overrden by government anyways, and organising policing (but has no say in any laws or what the police can do in terms of laws) - basically he is just a leader of a local council. So basically he has very little power at all. In America local governors have much more power.

If Crime is high or low in London, it has really very little do with the mayor, but more the laws the government sets. If immigration is high in London, it has nothing to do with the Mayor - he has no control over borders.

He is more or less a figure head of the city.

Why is Trump so obsessed by him ? Seems so random. Even if he is muslim, what's the issue? Trump has been running around Saudi Arabia mixing with muslims there. The UK muslim population is only 6%.

What's going on here?

Tell me one benefit the mayor has given locals ? He has no power over national budgets, he has no power over welfare, no power over anything fiscal other than organising the council tax budget like all councils do up and down the UK.

Why people are impressed with him, is he cares about policies locals care about. For example, he has reduced traffic, he has reduced pollution, he has cleaned up so many residential areas with ulez cameras (so you don't have cars and traffic passing into your street for short cuts). Public transport in London is pretty much world class (compare it to the crap in America) other than when they strike.

His planning laws have protected so many green spaces.

He does not set any laws. So if there is a shop lifting epidemic, he cannot lock up offenders. The police work within the powers the government sets.

What more do you want from the mayor ?

If the governor of Bangkok reduced all vehicle pollution, sorted the traffic mess out, created more green space, cleaned the city up we would all be in favour of him too.

Let's be honest it's his religion that bothers people. How pathetic.

Trump's stupid obsession is with the entire UK, not just London. Deep down, he wants to be someone dressed up in red robes and a white wig, nodding off in the House of Lords.

Trump's attack on Khan revives their feud, centering on immigration and identity politics.

Immigration and identity politics. Sad that this is now the divide. It use to be about workers rights. Now it's about mass immigration, illegal immigrants rights, freedom of speech, punishment for crimes or more to the point lack thereof, freedom of speech (now a thing of the past in the UK), LGBTQI++++ rights and all that goes with it, etc., etc.

Is Trump aware Sadiq Khan does not control the borders of London. He has no control over any fiscal finacial policy of London, other than council taxes (which every city in the world has). He has no control over the laws of London.

He does not control the number of people who immigrate to the UK. That is the responsibility of the Labour government, the home secretary Shabana Mahmood, and ultimate responsibily with prime minster Keir Starmer. It has nothing at all do with Sadiq Khan.

Love him or loathe him, President Trump says exactly what he feels and what many other people feel!

And the president is right on the ball!

Look at the facts..total disaster!

Crime
  • Knife crime offenses increased 86% from 2016 to 2024.
  • Violent crime surged 30% during Khan's mayoralty (2016–2025).
  • Pickpocketing and phone snatching jumped 38% in 2024–2025.
  • Tube offenses rose 56% from 2022 to 2023.
  • Theft increased by 33.9% in the first year of Khan's tenure (2016–2017).
  • Metropolitan Police placed into special measures for being "wholly dysfunctional".
  • Stop and search operations collapsed by more than 50% since 2016.
  • London accounts for nearly half of all knife-point robberies in England.
  • Only 2% of burglaries in outer London result in a charge or summons.

Housing
  • London started the fewest affordable homes per capita of any UK region under Khan.
  • More than one-third of London boroughs recorded zero housebuilding starts in Q1 2025.
  • Only 1,100 new homes started in London in Q1 2025, against target of 88,000 per year.
  • Value of residential planning approvals halved from 2015 to 2024.
  • 80% of homes finished in 2024 received planning permission under the pre-Khan London Plan.
  • Affordable housing quotas (up to 50%) make projects financially unviable, stalling development.
  • Median London home price is 11.5 times median salary, with lowest vacancy rate in UK.

Transport and ULEZ
  • ULEZ expansion had no measurable impact on air quality.
  • Congestion levels 45% higher in 2024 than 2019.
  • Average rush-hour commute (10 km) takes 1 hour 28 minutes.
  • Hammersmith Bridge closed to motorists since 2019, later to pedestrians.
  • Fare evasion on TfL increased despite added enforcement officers.

Public Approval
  • 45% of Londoners dissatisfied with Khan's performance.
  • Overall satisfaction with Khan: 27%.
  • Khan admitted incorrect claim that knife crime decreased during his tenure.

In this particular case, you may be right!!

I remember when Clinton was standing for the presidency how republicans clutched their pearls and swore "he's coming for our guns" and would introduce communism.

Best president in a long time.

Khan keeps being voted in as mayor because people choose him.

Are you implying Muslims do not follow the teachings of the Koran in terms of siding with fellow Muslims ahead of non-Muslims?

Quran 3:28: "Let not believers take disbelievers as allies [awliya] rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing with Allah, except when taking precaution against them in prudence."

Quran 49:10: "The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy."

Quran 60:1: "O you who have believed, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies, extending to them affection while they have disbelieved..."

Trump is very unhappy, very frustrated, and disappointed that he is losing support, that members of his party are questioning his policies, and showing insufficient fealty, and that his highly inferior cabinet picks are flailing.

Tariff Don is desperate. He will do or say anything to deflect from his own crumbling and feckless administration.

Racist rants are the new normal now. Trump despises anyone of color. Perhaps he should be focusing some energy on his own problems and his gross over estimation of America's place in the world and it's steep decline?
