Noticing many Supercars and Ultra Luxury Cars in Pattaya

Featured Replies

There are always many Lambos and sometimes you see a Ferrari, Mayback or Rolls Royce in Pattaya. Are these usually Supercar and Ultra Luxury Car rentals that foreigners are renting here to try and look cool and rich?

How much do Supercar rentals cost per day?

no, lots of really rich people in pattaya, i never met so many rich anywhere else combined

I think they are owned by locals.... perhaps daddy has a large restaurant or a lot of property. They can be dangerous as driven by spoiled brats, had a  few incidents on Sukhumvit as they drive home on Sundays!

do they have chonburi or BKK number plates ?

It just so happens, I went to the bank yesterday, withdrew several of these. I'm going shopping for a new vehicle today.

Locals could be heirs of the original fishermen. Who owns the land?

Others on a weekend from Bangkok where I have seen most of those types. On motorway 9 flying past. Rules don't apply.

Some of the supercar drivers I have seen in Pattaya are not locals but mid eastern types (from the oil rich countries I guess).

Or cars that have been seized by the government &  politicians riding around in them

It could also be just to try a supercar at least once in your life.

I checked online and there is a place renting supercars.

The lambos and ferraris will set you back 150,000 Baht.

Nothing better than what 2000 will get you.

I have seen two different ones pulling into the base condo. Revving the engine, dumping the clutch. Both driven by Caucasians,  drivers were Russian looking to me.lots of Russians in the base. I hear the. Talking all the time.

Older residents may remember the Ocean One tower saga in Jomtien. It was planned to be a 90-storey 'boutique' (aren't they all?) development on the plot where they're now starting to put up the Lucean Skypark. Many people were relieved of millions of Baht by the developer in off-plan sales but, as some had expected and predicted at the time, it all fell through and I don't think anyone got a penny back. The guy behind it all was a famous con artist who was, at the time, driving a brand new, top-of-the-range Bentley which cost something like 25 million Baht. He used to have a place in the condo where i lived and park it there so I got a good close-up look at it. The moral is that not everyone driving these fancy expensive vehicles is a crypto king, or has built up an honest fortune by the sweat of their brows.

When I met my wife she wouldn't have known whether she was

riding in a baht bus or a Bentley !

Very nasty ones

I've seen an increase in supercars in CM as well. Mostly Porsches.

It's the Makro car!

That had to move due to the SEA Games and VIP's. No doubt it will be back at some point.

Yeah, I left her there for a while, had no money for petrol.

Those in charge, they kept nagging me to move Gertrude.

Top shelf pussy mate, you know me, nothing but the best 👌

Very funny, thanks mate, well noted.

When I had the house built, I got the builder to install the safe, hiden in the bathroom.

It's a pain at times but great location.

Collector items for the wealthy and super rich. Rich Thais ... expensive cars (and watches) and special rare models are the main subject of small talk.

Oh, imagine the pressure to provide an appropriate parking space if you own a two digit number of these—and the absolute torture of having to choose the right one for the day. The struggle is real.

You mean local foreigners? Most I see were driven by Farangs and the Mayback was by Chinese (a bunch of youngish Chinese guys) parked on 2nd Rd just opposite Soi 6 next to those Chinese restaurants.

I mostly see Thai's driving supercars.

There's a little soi, runs from Pattaya Tai to 3rd road.

This guy (Mr LK) buys a new million dollar car every few months
