Police detained a German national after he went on a drunken rampage at Bang Sare market in Sattahip district, Chonburi province, on December 23, 2025, damaging vendors’ property and injuring himself. The incident caused alarm among residents and shop owners, prompting officers from Sattahip police station to intervene to restore calm. Authorities said the man was taken into custody primarily to de-escalate the situation and prevent further harm.

Police said they received reports of a foreign man behaving violently while intoxicated at the local market in Bang Sare, a coastal subdistrict of Sattahip. Officers arriving at the scene found the man, whose name was not released, in a state of extreme intoxication. He was lying on a sofa inside the market area after smashing items belonging to vendors.

According to police, the man had also harmed himself during the episode and sustained injuries. His actions scattered belongings outside a row of shop houses and left several vendors assessing damage to their stalls and goods. The disturbance created fear among people in the area, leading residents to call for police assistance.

Witnesses told officers that the German national had caused similar disturbances several times in the past when drunk. Locals said he becomes aggressive and self-harming after consuming alcohol but later calms down once sober. They added that on previous occasions he compensated victims for damages and returned to normal behaviour after the incidents.

Before Tuesday’s disturbance, residents reported hearing loud noises resembling objects being thrown and property being ransacked. When they investigated, they found the same man involved again and alerted police to prevent further danger. Officers said the call helped limit the incident’s impact and avoid escalation.

Police conducted an immigration check after detaining the man and confirmed he had not overstayed his visa. Authorities are considering charging him with public drunken misconduct, an offence punishable by a fine of up to 5,000 baht. Officers are also documenting the losses suffered by vendors as part of the case.

Khoasod reported that the man will be required to compensate those affected for property damage, police said. Further legal steps will depend on the outcome of the investigation and any formal charges filed. Authorities have not disclosed whether additional measures will be taken to prevent repeat incidents.

  • No, just cancel his visa and deport him.  Why should people have to put up with his sh*te (not once but again and again)?

  • Somebody moved his towel from the sunbed he reserved

  • He needs to be charged with criminal damage... the threat of his visa being cancelled needs to be made to hopefully improve his drinking habits.

Expensive past time for the German.

He needs to get off the booze, get himself a hobby.

Perhaps one our friendly AN members could pick him up on your way to the naval golf course at Sattahip.

I can't, sorry, I'm going away tomorrow

He just needs to have someone open a can of whooparse and let him learn a lesson.  Shop keepers should have just done a good ole beat down, and run him out of town.  Better suited for Pattaya or Phuket.

Has done it before causing disruption why is he still in Thailand

Maybe he knows someone important 💰 🤑

Until he hurts someone....it's seen as a money earner. Not right, just how it works.

Germany becoming a strong contender for being awarded the prize for the worst behaved nationality in Thailand.

No, not really. Having spent the past week in Koh Samui, I offer that Thailand has become the premier destination for the world's scum. French, German, Australia, British, Israeli, Emirati, iranian, Indian Italian etc. the majority of visitors today are bottom tier demographic.

Yes indeed. I had forgotten just how many nationalities are involved.

There are two types of Germans, the one you described and the 'Rammstein keyboardist' type.
