I've only had 1 user name on this forum since January 2003. No reason to change it.

But it seems that other posters are not using their original name. (Some posters claim to be forum members for decades, but their user number tells a different story...)

How many user names have you had? And why did you change user names?

I had two, one from 2012 I think, and this one. Forgot the other one, long time ago,

I have had two. THis one for the last 12 years and the prior one I used primarily when I was working in America. I was naive during the first go around. I didn't grasp how important it was to keep private data private. I realised it quickly when an employee who wouldn't even know Thailand from Taiwan brought up a post I made here in a group meeting.

I have had a few: Yinn and MalcolmB were my most successful, am currently using Transaam, Harrissfan and Liverpool Loo.

Of course i jest but do you really think those who were banned and came back with a new name are going to fess up here 😂

Still on my original name since joining a while back.

Maybe more interesting if we could call out current posters and name all their previous names, don't suppose the mods will let that run though.

You don't have to be banned to change user name.... were you banned? :)

You can tell who some folks are by their posts. They cant stop using the same tired lines they used before they were banned or slunk away in embarrassment after the election

2 ... one about 20 yrs ago, I think, and hated TV. Think I lasted 9 post. Didn't join for any reason, but the members, were far worse than on AN version. Haven't a clue what email or password I used.

At least now there's maybe about 7 members with some intelligence and forum etiquette.

Same as you, I've only had this one.

I know a few people who have managed to get banned not just once but multiple times, and they've always come back under a new name. One of them has a ridiculously unique posting style, so you'd have to be blind not to see that he's returned, which makes me think it's kind of tolerated.

Only ever had 1 username on Thai visa, which is now Asean Now

If someone gets banned - is this noted under that name or do they just seem to be inactive?

Just wondering, as two on my blocking list seem to be inactive since Dcember. Before they were constantly writing .... .

One, like you; so, I never changed it...

When I first joined this forum many years ago my username was Possum1931. That was supposed to be my password, I am not sure whether it was me or the forum who made the mistake. In more recent years a kind mod allowed me to change my user name to NoshowJones without me losing my postcount.

NoshowJones and Possum are the names my Country Music idol George Jones was known by.

Must have missed the memo. Aren't we supposed to have only one?

One, from 2008. I guess that'll do, for better and for worse. I won't get any smarter using a new nick 😄
