Hey eaters, it's only take out and delivery now, but I'm sure lots of you are doing just that.

Are you "discovering" any new (to you) restaurants that way?

 

I have.

 

My latest is Jimmy's (Jomtien) on the free delivery (with frequent discount codes) Hungry Now app. 

 

I went for their apparently popular Sunday roast. Had the mixed meats. I'm not British so you can discount this, but I found it to be one of the better ones in town (haven't tried them all though). 

 

I think it was 325 on the app and both the quality and portions were good. 

 

Of course had leftover meats to cook with later.

 

The roast carrots were particularly delightful because they had that "chi" of the roast. Also the chicken was a large with bone leg/thigh. Two medium sized nicely done Yorkshire puddings.

 

I will definitely order roasts again from Jimmy's even though I'm not an every Sunday guy.

I suspect that may be why so few people are posting recently, so many rockets lurking out there. People go to a bit of effort to post reviews, photos and opinions and these rockets contribute jack, just stick boot in. Rant over.

 

I had Sunday Roast from Jimmys a few weeks ago, had the roast lamb. Remember them roast carrots too. Was a fine meal, decent value too.

But, have to say, it was surpassed last Sunday. Had the carvery Sunday Roast from Sportsman. What a meal, huge and everything top notch. Normally, 395B but discounted on Hungry Now to 255B. There were 5 different meats, I had some meats for dinner yesterday and have roast beef for today. Awesome meal overall, wont be beaten in Pattaya.

 

Once a week, we crack a bottle of red and order an Indian take away. Having tried several, Curry Home near Lingkee junction, free delivery, and the best Indian food I have found in Pattaya. I do also like India By Nature, who are now doing a special discounted menu.

Retox game on are doing these big boxes of fast food, ideal finger food for when watching sport at weekends with friends and beers. Great value and big portions. Hopefully, they will do a pick it yourself mix and match.

Must say, was never much into the deliveries until recent events sort of forced my hand, now quiet enjoying it.

Not sure about that.

 

If there is a lack of posts, then its probably down to how many get removed for various inconsistent and spurious infractions.

There isn't very much .here for people looking for UK or Chinese American food except for sweet and sour pork and shrimp.

 

I have posted about this place a few times before based on eating in and delivery with basic conclusion that I wasn't thrilled and felt it was overpriced. 

 

Well I think they've improved.  Added some interesting new dishes which oddly are better represented on Grab than Hungry Now. It seems like they have a different chef in charge from the taste of the food. Still on the pricey side but you can play the food apps discount code game. 

 

The dishes with offal are clearly marked but I've noticed some dishes that sound vegetarian actually include pork.

 

I've eaten through the majority of their menu by now. For me some dishes are better than others but almost all are at least OK. One dish was a big fail for me Kung pao chicken. It was way too sweet. I thought it was a mistake and even ordered it again with cut the sugar instructions. Still way too sweet. Weird because thats not a pattern there. Oh well.

 

I was inspired to post about this place again because of a few newer items on the Grab menu which particularly impressed me. They give an idea of the sophistication of their current menu.

 

First scallops in shell with garlic vermicelli. 300

Checked the website and 2 things

 

1. They don't seem to specialise in Mexican but have a wide range of foods.

 

2. Clicking "Menu" gets you nowhere so I can't check it out.

Today being Friday they have an entire slate of additional Mexican stuff on special. 

Just ordered a fantastic Carne asada super burrito from that site yesterday.

Not expecting a gourmet experience but how about half decent?

Good info, and yes, anytime we have ordered Thai food from GRAB, been mainly disappointed. 

So will give this place a go.

Missus reckons its called Janeee, and the 3 is for third road.
