Commerce Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 That's not what this Thai news source has just reported. http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/one-tourist-murder-suspect-now-arrested-another-run/ That is dated 23rd...... not 27th........ get ur dates right...... payment came after that! 2
BirdsandBooze Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) Although DNA from 2 Asians was found on the victim that's not to say that there weren't others involved in the crime who didn't rape and pass their DNA onto her. And maybe there was a foreigner there as well, it's best not to discount anything out of hand. What is clear is that the investigation is going nowhere and the authorities need to show humility and offer to turn the investigation over to Scotland Yard who may yet be able to salvage something from this debacle. ClutchClark Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 People by and large don't realize just how far and how low Thais will go to fabricate a story, save face and save their butts. It's quite obvious to anyone with any day to day knowledge of Thailand what is going on here; why the BIB said this, why the BIB said that, why the BIB played for time, why the crime scene was fouled, why the junta said whatever, what the headman's ploy was with his reward and alibis, why foreign social media was criticized etc etc ...yawn... And we are all supposed to act dumb and soak up this nonsense like uneducated serfs living in a bygone age. What to do? If the Thai authorities cannot face the truth, should this not be raised to an international rather than a domestic issue? Although this was a great tragedy for the family, does it really rate as one of the world's great crisis that demands international investigation? What about all the Thais who die annually? If a Thai was murdered in the UK it would be sorted. A UK citizen should be treated the same in LOS considering this part of LOS is virtually funded by tourism. Trans, If people want the level of police protection they have in The UK then they shouldn't leave the UK. This young couples death was tragic and has destroyed the lives of their families. This is the case in every violent murder. Its the case in every Thai that has been murdered. When a Thai made a comment about how tourism had to be protected this board was frantic.
belg Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 blame the foreigner game has started even foreign DNA of mongolian men were found inside the poor victim.... everybody should BAN this ban island

Most of us know how stuff is "fixed" in LOS , Thai/Thai stuff that is. That practice should not be used in farang cases. In fact I think if this one is later found to have been "fixed" then shot in the foot may be the outcome for many.
Chicog Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 It's reaching the pathetically comical stage now.

SteveFong Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 with David's family not pressing the issue, they give the murderers a pass
Popular Post Crazy chef 1 Posted September 27, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 27, 2014 This is becoming a farce. Panga is a disgrace, and his clowns on KT have done everything they can to obstruct justice. The British Foreign Office should now be advising all British Citizens to avoid travel to Koh Tao. becoming? has been from the beginning. 3
ratcatcher Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Laughable!! The dna dperm in the lady was asian. I suppose foreigner can mean anything these days. Foreigner, to a Thai, is anyone not born in Thailand. (Kon dtaang chaat) roughly speaking.) Farang, as we have been told endlessly on here already is a 'westerner' or person of 'western origin' not an Asian or African. 2
Alwyn Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 And the "key witness" didn't come forward until now because.................. you beat me to the punch, my thoughts exactly 1
crazykopite Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 And the next thing we will be told that the key witness is the owner of the AC bar who offered the police 1 million baht to prove it was his family lets all LOL this is the blind leading the blind and whilst all this is going on the parents of the deceased must wonder what really happened that night . The case stinks of corruption I for one will never set foot on the island again and any family members who come to visit me will be warned to to go because there are Killers walking around scot free on Koh Tao 2
Popular Post boomerangutang Posted September 27, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 27, 2014 Next breaking news story in Thai newspaper will read something like this: 'Lab technician re-tests bodily fluids and finds they're actually farang origin, not Asian. Lab techie can't be reached for comment, she had to take a long vacation to a Pacific Island.' 3
anakot Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 And the "key witness" didn't come forward until now because.................. he hadn't been paid his one million baht until last night!
Popular Post ClutchClark Posted September 27, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) with David's family not pressing the issue, they give the murderers a passNo.They simply recognize the obvious--nothing will bring their beloved child back. Their entire world has crashed and they din't wish to be reminded of the brutality of their child's death for the next year in pursuit of actively participating in an investigation and trial. And you have a responsibility to respect that because you and everyone of us on here have no right to comment on their decision in the manner you just did. Edited September 27, 2014 by ClutchClark 8
Mooner Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Key witness comes forward 2 weeks later. It wasnt a Thai! It was a Farang...try and pin it on that Sean guy, he seems a little bit wacky. No its a Burmese person. Maybe it is a Thai. Its not a Thai its a Foreigner. Case solved!!
cardinalblue Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Key witness - comes forward 12 days later? Was he negotiating his payment? Check his family bank accounts? Tried to reserve judgment but now becomes a farce.. As to 85%....it either 0 or 100% when an arrest is made and the trial determines if its 0 or 100% proper conviction... A statement of partial completion shows so little in terms of law and order competency... CB
DP25 Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Laughable!! The dna dperm in the lady was asian. I suppose foreigner can mean anything these days. Foreigner does not mean farang. It means, not Thai. Burmese, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, etc Are all foreigners. 2
lucaswallachia Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Well if you look up numerous random murder cases there's always ones where a witness doesn't come forward for whatever reason that wraps up a case.

Popular Post Jeremy50 Posted September 27, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 27, 2014 At the end of the day, they are releasing the news that the Thai people want to hear and to believe, it is their priority to do so. Tragic. 6

I don't even comprehend the amount of self-righteousness someone would have to have to insist that the parents need to know because they owe it to their dead child. Just in case you forgot...you don't know these victims. They were not your friends, they were not your neighbors. They were not your family. Tomorrow you wake up and its just another day. 2
