webfact Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Alleged rapist of teen refuses to re-enact crime By The Nation CHACHOENGSAO: -- A man accused of raping and murdering a 14-year-old girl in the Ban Pho district of Chachoengsao province on July 12 refused to perform a crime re-enactment and apologised before the girl's body, provincial police chief Pol Maj-General Theerapol Jindaluang said on Friday. The suspect, Supornchai Noonoi, 31, an alleged serial rapist linked to at least four other rape cases – in Khon Kaen in 2008, 2015 and last year, as well as another rape in June of a 30-year-old woman in Chon Buri's Panat Nikhom district – did not confess to the crime against the teen out of remorse, Theerapol explained. Supornchai, who was nabbed on Wednesday based on DNA evidence, confessed because he was confronted with clearly incriminating evidences, which are sufficient to prosecute him even without a crime re-enactment, Theerapol said. Police were also worried that the angry crowd at the re-enactment scenes might attack the suspect and escorting police officers, he admitted. A group of 60 people, led by the murder victim's relatives, had showed up at the Ban Pho Police Station on Thursday afternoon to demand that the officers bring the suspect to perform a crime re-enactment and apologise before the girl's body. Despite police claims that the officers had to gather evidence for submission along with a detention request to court on Friday and that the suspect was linked to more cases, the villagers insisted on the demand for an apology from the suspect. They even suggested to bring the girl's body to the precinct for the suspect to apologise in front of everyone. The protest went on for hours until Theerapol patiently explained the law and promised to proceed with the investigation carefully and fast. The villagers left at around 7pm. shady86 Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 He was released after 1 year for murder crime previously. I wonder if he will be released again after another year behind the bars.
champers Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 If he is a serial rapist why is he out on the streets and not imprisoned?
rkidlad Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 This man is a despicable piece of excrement, but it's not his responsibility to do anything. What morals could you possibly hold a murdering rapist up to? Criminals are not obliged to help the police with their work loads/jobs. That is the job solely of the police. You can be more lenient with sentencing if they do help, but this is all moot as this person needs to be put away for the rest of his life if found guilty. You don't need to do re-enactments for the purposes of securing a conviction. Sentences are often simply given out on the whim of a judge. The re-enactments are nothing more than a photo opp and an ego boost.

scubascuba3 Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Can't really be surprised he didn't want to reenact the rape
edwinchester Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Was it really as long ago as last week that the police were told to stop these reenactments?

How can one be an alleged rapist but at the same time have sufficient proof of guilt against the perpetrator at the same time?

ezzra Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 This scum is nothing but a defected human being, a sub human in fact, should have tossed out to garbage pile when first he was born....

There was another one in the news the other day who raped a nurse in the Nong Khai Hospital. Is it because rape is only considered to be a minor offence? Thailand it seems is a man's world. Obviously women don't have much say determining the law within this sexist justice system.

sinbin Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 The guy confessed to the crime and his DNA tested positive to him being involved. So why do these idiots go through a charade of a reenactment, with finger pointing? A total waste of police time IMO.

I remember quite a few years ago when a guy re enacted a murder of a child, they used a Tellytubby doll, pathetic. Sent from my SM-G920F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
giddyup Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Sentences handed down for these serious crimes are a joke. How is it possible to be released after 1 year for rape and murder?

He was convicted for murder previously, released after 1 year in jail. Capital punishment is the only way to stop murder.
Minnehaha Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 could they not find another suitable woman to sit in for the reenactment? how on earth is a reenactment even used to prove guilt? DNA evidence is pretty accurate when done correctly. perhaps I dont understand reenacting evidence

Granted there are cases where someone would just jump into the fire and take blame for a crime not comitted, doesnt feel to be the case here though.

Pridilives Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Reenact used by police when want convict wrong person. Police have custody mean can torture if not do reenact. When stay court how can say innocent if have video reenact. Better cancel all reenact

YetAnother Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 guy is scum of the earth, sure; but this re-enactment crap is not even civilized
