East Pattaya locals complain herd of wild boars roaming area

PATTAYA:--Soi Khao Talo residents want Pattaya to help catch 30-40 wild boars roaming the nearby woods eating trash and biting people.

Residents of Eakmongkok 4/1 village met with Nongprue Sub-district Councilman Metasit Samala Feb. 4, saying that construction workers living nearby originally had a couple boars as pets. But they bred to create a herd as large as 40 animals.

Residents complained the wild pigs rummaged through trash bins and even bit a few people. They want Pattaya to catch the animals and restrict them to a pen where they can be cared for and not bother people.

maybe train em to eat the soi dogs then have a big charity bbq when the jobs complete...

  • Strange they don't complain about all the wild soi dogs doing the exact same things ?

  • Will it be for eating or other pleasures ? [emoji12]

Send in the pigstickers.

Hard-bitten/dry from the barbecue I am afraid

Wild boars, how similar the reports are.

They behave very similar in German cities.

Ruin parks, gardens.

Get rid of them before they overun the city.

In some places in the US, there are so many its shoot as many as you want as many times as you want using whatever gun you want. And still they keep coming

I wonder if these are edible?
Of course they are, same as dog ,cat, rat, snake, chicken, cow, sheep, rabbit, gerbils, crickets, ants, fish and vegetables.

Lol ofcourse I forgot where I was for a sec.  I know in NZ they eat wild boar but they eat natural vegetation, just wasnt sure if they ate rubish it would ruin the meat.

Just as puppies and kittens, the piglets are cute, but when they grow big they are kicked out on the street. To become stray boars.

The notion that 10-30+  kilo of free good meat per pig, is just walking around pattaya

and belongs to know one,  is just a farcical.  :cheesy:

Somchai and his mate dip stick, would be out there with a machete in

a few hours all pigs would be dead,  and in back of pick up.

Carry on Thailand. :stoner:

I live in East Pattaya, quite near to the location noted and came across this specimen a few years back, just outside our wall. Took a pic and retreated quickly as it seemed to be sizing me up for it's next meal!!

Not unless you want to join the Masons

Absolutely. Catch and keep for a couple of weeks. Dry feed and worm them out, the sows will often drop a litter in this time...BONUS. Kill and stick (google that part) then check the lymph glands. All ok...happy days. Cook well and no fear of rabies. I know quite a few blokes who have lived on pork chops for decades.

Perhaps the soi dogs could be trained to be pig dogs? 2 birds,one stone. Most dogs take to hunting pigs naturally.

Wild Boar, delicious.

So dogs can bite people, eat the rubbish.... hundreds of dogs... but 40 pigs are not allowed to?  Maybe the pigs are reincarnations of people too!!

Shouldn't Soi Boars get to be left alone just as the dogs are?

In the southern USA wild pigs are rampant and uncontrollable.  They hire hunters to kill them, they make it open season year round, but still, the pigs multiply.  The pigs are smart, they don't come out in the day anymore and they will go through a planted crop like a tornado - they can get to be 500 lbs.

I live off Kao Talo.  The area is overrun with wild dogs.  Can't see two sets of creatures competing for the same garbage.  Looks to me like the dogs are winning.

Call in 10 Cajuns, tell 'em that Thai boar is extra spicy and good in gumbo, and that they're out of season.

Problem solved.
