Wouldn,t it be great if the Indians all went to Vietnam ? Only then might there be hope ???? This may sound racial, but I have only ever seen Indians urinating in the MIDDLE of the street, and washing their underwear in the hotel swimming pool ???? All the other races appear to rise above this behaviour.

Flew to Bali some months back, many on the plane using Thai via BKK. More families though.

The most surprising thing is that there was no warning that this might happen.           (sarcasm on)

Why do they keep mentioning Pattaya, it is the Whole of Thailand, not just one resort.

It's more fun in the Philippines anyway

+ way cheaper

+ no rude holes behind a desk screaming

"you come too often!!!!"

"what you do here?"

"you want that sweet 345 THB for 10 hours of work job, riiight?"

Instead you can stay 3 years on tourist visa without even leaving the country

Exactly my experience. Had been stopped twice by immigration just by having toured Thailand too often. Considering how much money you spend in 4 weeks, you should expect a hearty welcome and a thank you instead. But going to the Philippines or Vietnam, the immigration officers greet you friendly, smile and wish you a nice stay. No joke, they really did.

I witnessed an Old Indian Lady the other day haggling the price  of a large amount of " Silk " products she was about to possibly buy from a Small Shopping Mall Stall.

The Thai store owner was really flustered, as this Old Lady was really aggressive in her manner. She also had a couple of her " Sons " standing close by to add to the intimidation.

She was  obviously going to resell the items back home, and wanted the best price  for the products.

Maybe these kind of Indian Tourists are your 10K Baht / Day Tourists.

Since the middle of that month until now occupancy rates at Pattaya hotels are down 20% on where they should be.

no mention of AirBNB? then you would have to admit that thousands of the illegal less than 30 day condo rentals are going on all over Pattaya.

Indians are travelling thanks to their more buoyant economy and many are choosing to come to Pattaya in groups of 20 - 30. Many are men.

:shock1: I just wish tourist were more aware of their surroundings. they walk in big groups and when they stop they block the sidewalks and sometimes they just walk into the streets completely clueless that they were about to die.

The neighbors are trying harder and do not have governments cursed with extreme arrogance, xenophobia, fake nationalism, fake puritanism, hatred of foreigners and a tremendous lack of intelligence and vision. Thailand is moving backwards. The army rule, is the worst thing to happen to this nation in the past 80 years.

hahahaha are you for real??

Cambodia - Hun Sen

Phillipines - Rodrigo Duterte

and let us not forget..

the Communist Party of Vietnam

yeah they are a bundle of laughs that lot :cheesy:

Well, this phenomena isn't ONLY in Pattaya guys!

From North to South it's the same!

One can still bargain a bungalow down to 50% over Xmass time!!

Never seen this before since over 25 years living here...

The boomerang is flying back... Right in the teeth!

Tm30’s , other complicated strict visas rules, strong bht, air pollution, sea water pollution, double pricing, low English levels of speaking. Pee in cup, road blocks targeting foreigners , violence against tourists without serious  jail terms for locals, smoking fines of 100 k for unaware foreigners , to manhunt overstaying foreigners anyway non of it all is boosting tourism in what way whatsoever!

Once the Indians figure this out they be gone also...

In my 25 years of in-and-outs here, which must amount to over 100 each way, I have only ever had an IO smile at me once on the way in, and once on the way out as a supervisor was showing a new recruit what to do as I joked with them about there being no queue.

When I've entered China (Beijing) I've noticed they have a number of smiley or otherwise buttons to rate their service. It's quite obvious why Thailand doesn't have them. They'd only need one.

I think there must be an error... 10,000 baht per person per holiday?

While waiting for my daughter to file a missing luggage item, I had the time to scan arrivals at the big Suvana Airport. Three hours in fact and I saw the Indian tourists arriving. Good luck.

Normal behaviour in India, while the Chinese just ignorantly shove their way through. Fear not, the Thais will eventually realise the value of the Westerner and we will be flavour of the month again. Though it will never be what it once was. ????

As for tourist groups. Have you seen the Japanese following the tour group leader’s flag? Naughty by nature, Roadrunner wanted to run off with the flag and have a bus load of Japanese chase me down the street!

More important to take Chinese hot money inflows (with Chinese bribes)—than to save tourism, exports and the economy in general.

As usual clueless.  The hotel numbers are down because lots of tourists are now staying illegally in condos.  And likely to get worse as a number of mega condo projects that will be instant hotels are just opening, being built or in the pipeline.

Many have already left and not just from Pattaya up here in Khonkaen I know a lot who have left in the past year.

I am leaving end of the month but this is more to do with Australian  pension requirements.

The funny thing is, the more articles they write, the more they spend per day each time.
In todays article they claim that Indians spend this much:

The 28th of October it was this much:

I am sure I can go back to a couple of articles more, and it will be different numbers.

They always like to blame something/someone else rather than the fact that the baht is way to high for a lot of to afford to come to Thailand for a holiday

Fair comment.  The article appears to be Pattaya specific and as we know that has it's own attractions appealing more to single men than families.  Wonder how it compares to Phuket, Krabi, Koh Samui and other more family friendly resorts.

I imagine tourism is down country wide but maybe for different reasons and not just the high value of the baht.

Lets get real. How many swiss ladies will entertain 7 young men at the same time for a thousand baht?
