I learned that having a plan B in life, no matter where you live, is a good thing.  Having lived in Thailand for 23 years, but now marooned in the US because we can't get return flights, we were alway

Prayer is a waste of time, even for those who do get a reply. Eve, especially, has a lot to answer for.

There are important things in life:

Air

Water

Food

Family

Gold.

The rest is just luxury; and we can do without it.

Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a motivational theory in psychology comprising a five-tier model of human needs, often depicted as hierarchical levels within a pyramid.

Needs lower down in the hierarchy must be satisfied before individuals can attend to needs higher up. From the bottom of the hierarchy upwards, the needs are: physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, and self-actualization.

I learned that many people are sheeple and believe anything the "government" tells them. I learned that "democracy" is a sham.

Actually I didn't learn that as I thought that anyway. All that happened is that my suspicions were confirmed.

What I did learn is that in a crisis I'm on my own.

You should be comfortable with this, didn't you do several spells in the Antarctic? Or was that more socialised because people there were living cheek by jowl?

I learned official numbers from Asia are false with no attempt to get to the actual numbers.

Right across the board, Japan, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos. The only possible exceptions are South Korea and Singapore.

But generally you can't trust numbers out of Asia.

I've learned that the movie V for Victory, apart from being entertaining, was also socially correct. Governments can utilize fear to herd the masses to agree to anything against their own benefit, if they promise to keep them safe. Few of us still think for ourselves, we instead lazily download our opinions from paid shills.

It wasn't always social. Coop people that dislike each other up together and the bad feelings will come out, which is why divorce lawyers are lovin' the lockdown. Down there one didn't have the opportunity to have one's own space unless going for a long walk outside.

Looking back it was perhaps surprising that there was no physical violence, but that was perhaps more down to luck than good behaviour.

It's different with lockdown and enforced separation, but I've never found it a problem being on my own anyway.

I am quite happy to be on my own, in fact, under normal circumstances I go looking for it.

My wife is the opposite though, so for her sake I hope I can get home soon.

Right now I'm confined with 30 others onboard and there is no escape !!

Too always have at least 1 years income put away before the need to start digging into saving.

Although I didnt think it would be for a  'Plandemic. '..????

Good luck to all going forward its gonna get rocky

Ah - the innocence of the foreigner ???? (sorry American...)

'Learnt' is correct British English for the past simple tense of 'learn', just as 'burnt' is the correct form of 'burn'.  I digress - this isn't a grammar thread ????

I was 16 when Beatles album Rubber Soul came out & "I'm Looking Through You" tune had lines "The only difference I've learnt the game"gave me an "eh?" moment (being a yank). Looked it up & thought, okay, why not? I've learnt of many more variations since then, including owner's manual for MGB. Now please excuse me while I get a tyre from boot to change

For me it was dont catch the virus causing the pandemic early because at that time only severe cases are reported and you think you will die (not pleasant!).  Other than that I havnt learnt anything Matt Damon didnt teach me in Contagion a decade ago. ????

You not answer what the problem?

Villages grow own food share together will survive more than city areas. Many city, Chiang mai, Pattaya, Bangkok etc people people join the line free food.

Ranong no problem.

Grow food, share the neighborhood together.

And durian cheap now because no tourist!

Anyone remember Psycho?. That too was a bloke pretending to be a woman, but in that case it was his mother.

I have learned, with great sadness, that it clearly obvious that mass populations can be easily controlled with the threat of jail sentences of hefty fines for non-compliance. New World Order is now clearly in place ????

We was also having problems with water lack off, the well was running dry the city water goes off for days we never rely on that, during lockdown I had to buy a tank more than likely paid over the odd's for it, we did have a spare pump and managed to get a guy to set it all up the same day now at least we can buy water and some where to put it, now it's not stopped raining for the last 2 days here in Phuket.

The other thing I have learnt is, not so much about the amount of money you save, to me it's about the amount of money I've wasted paying for overpriced junk food the restaurants here are getting more expensive than in England Im sure it's made more people think who live here about the amount of money they spend

I have learnt that i am very comfortable being alone with my thoughts. That i do not need social interaction and not worried in the slightest if i was the last person on the planet.

Good for you. You will grow your own rice and wheat. Catch your own fish, gut, skin or scale and cook them. You'll raise your own chickens, pigs and/or beef animals and prepare them.  If you hunt, same thing.  All the while watching for the elephants, tigers, dogs, crocodiles, snakes and whatever other predator is out there to kill you.  Good plan!

The world needs to go back to work. Now!!

Or the USA, where, they now have a financial incentive to record the death as COVID. (I don't have the source handy so don't ask, but it could have been those Doctors that were silenced by YouTube or Elon Musk)
