Recommended Posts

Hi all,  just a simple info question , does immigration Jomtien still stamp the proof of being alive document for pension , as before  they did last time for me ?

Fee or no fee to pay is not important , important  is that it is  done...!

Thanks for reply in advance

Hi

Infortunately in Jomtien IO they don't do it anymore. If tou have a consulate in Pattaya, they will sign it for you. I did mine few months ago at the German consulate in Pattaya. I am french BTW so member of EU. Just need your original passport.

Good luck

No need to go to a consulate or embassy, the amphoe can do that for you.

Pattaya Expat Club does that. We meet at Amari Hotel every Friday (at present no meetings) but starts on 21st August. You may contact Expat Managers through Pattaya Expat Web site.

I'm quite surprised that many countries in Europe still don't use digital 'proof of life' verification. I sign mine digitally in 30 seconds and return it to my pension provider using a digital mailbox.

I am on very good terms with the post mistress on soi Buakhao

(I rent a post box there @ ฿3,000 per year). A notification from

HM Gov informed me that she would be accepted as a credible

witness that I am still drawing breath. My fee was that of ฿500.

I would much rather keep my ฿3,000 in my back pocket but the

risks of not having a p.o. box here are really horrible due to the

mail holding "system" that is used in rental accommodation - (ie)

uncollected mail is kept in an unsecured open woven basket and

the next days mail is tipped on top of that lot  ad nauseam. All of

the residents checking their mail churn the lot upside down making

for a frustratingly annoying experience – (cue childish sarcastic post).

Residents vacate (some also die) and the pile grows on a daily basis.

I wonder how many readers have fallen foul of this part of Thai life and

have had their monthly government pension stopped – with no money

going into the bank? This happened to me and I was made to wait over

2 months for a resumption of payments (ouch).

I wrote to Danny Alexander (MP) suggesting that as this is such a matter

of importance that an email alerting the ex-pat that this has been sent.

No way José. Far too busy doing other "stuff" ...

... such are the trials and tribulations of living 6,000 miles away and NOT

receiving this HM Gov form.

Strange that one has to do that at Immigration .

I can do mine at the Social Security Office every  year .I get a document send from the Netherlands to take, Sign/date/stamp at the SSO they have an agreement with the Netherlands.

On my document it says  One can do it at the Police station , Immigration, Tourist Police ,  Municipal office ,   Consultant  , Embassy.

Ah yes that controlling organization for the Dutch ..... they control even inside Thailand if not living together with Thai woman ….. in case they cut AOW money …. seems very dishonest action , is same as you can not share your own money with another person ...

Surprises me a lot from such a social organized country

It is also depending what your countries accept , government or private pension fund .

Different country rules and different pensions situation ,

mine only take official seals from official Gov. services

On the contrary  as I example would marry   , if all official (not only living together ..) they augment with 25% my pension  (on condition wife not work ) an pension never frozen over whole world (if following the needs as example proof of life ..)

That's a good one .

Australia says , If you have a Partner Married or Living in. You get  Less only Basic Pension.

Can't Claim for a Partner if the Partner is under Retirement Age

I dropped about AUD $ a few Hundred Because of that.

You want to know how it works look at Centrelink Australia.  ????

I know Key Visa will do it for you. It is 1000 baht though.

Just a few doors away is Thai-Euro Law Office. I paid 500bt for their Notary to sign off on a UK state pension proof of life cert a couple of years back.

Problem solved ,  proof of being alive stamped ….

I tried my luck ones more at Immigration Jomtien …, but I got refused by a tall slim lady in a blue uniform I never saw before (?) ": go your Embassy "

I replied : Police can do ? …..she : " maybe " ...

So up to Pattaya beach road police station  ...inside straight to reception , explained & she saw my paper , made a stamp sign thru the window behind her , an officer nodded yes  …. straight went inside , and even he was buzzy with a farang lady case, took the paper asked my name and I pointed him out where to sign and stamp & date ….BINGO !! job done.

Many people sitting waiting passed by reception priority pointing ....(?)

So anyone in need  you know where to go ????
